New York

My trip was wonderful! I saw three shows in two days!!

Saturday: I got into town on time even though my first flight was cancelled. They sent me to Newark instead of LaGuardia. I got to Hillary's apartment and we went down to the Corner Bistro in Greenwich Village, but it was too crowded so we went to Brooklyn to eat at Grimaldi's. Damn, that's some good fucking pizza. Then we walked back across the Brooklyn Bridge. That was really neat. I'd never done it at night. We went up to Times Square to look around a bit. We went to the Wicked Stage Door, but it was almost midnight, so we missed everything. Oh well.

Sunday: We woke up and went to the East Village. Alphabet City is really neat. We walked around and saw tons of Rent stuff like the Life Cafe, Tompkins Square Park. We ate lunch and I bought some earrings. We went back uptown to see WICKED!!! So good. I loved it. It was Chris Fitzgerald's last show and he was really cute during the whole thing. He did a cute little dance during Dancing Through Life. Cracked me up! I love Idina Menzel. She is so beautiful and wonderful. During For Good, she and Jennifer Laura Thompson were really crying, so that was really amazing. Their emotions were incredible. Wow... the show won't be the same without her.  After Wicked we ran to the TKTS booth and got tickets for Hairspray. I wasn't really very excited to see it, but it was great!!! We were sitting in a box, so we were sooo close to the stage. I couldn't see stage left perfectly, but that was okay. I had so much fun at the show. We waited at the stage door afterwards and that was really fun. I met all the cast and got pictures with most of them.  Afterwards we got Tasti D Lite and went back to Hillary's.

Monday: I took the subway to  South Street Seaport and they only had tickets for Good Vibrations... ummm.. no thanks. I walked up Wall St., past Trinity Cathedral to Ground Zero. I love going there. It's such a powerful place. I can't even really explain it. Then I went to St. Paul's Chapel where a lot of the Sept. 11th relief was done. They have a beautiful sort of memorial set up in there. I always go there when I'm in New York. It kind of puts a lot of things into perspective for me.   After that I went to Century 21 and bought a Dolce & Gabbana tie for my dad and one for Jesse (which he didn't like). And a bag for me (which Jesse didn't like). Then I went to the Corner Bistro in the Village. Such a great cheeseburger. Yummm... then I went to the TKTS booth in Times Square and got tickets for Fiddler On the Roof. I walked over the Rockefeller to see the tree and stuff and go shopping at H&M. I got two shirts but that's it. Surprising, isn't it? I met Hillary back at the plaza and we went home for a while. We went to Fiddler and it was amazing. The set is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. We went home and went to bed.

Tuesday: I travelled for 17 fucking hours. I was on the runway in Denver for 2 1/2 hours waiting for the plane to get de-iced. That was crap. But I'm home and I had a great time! YAY!!
