I really gave my poor legs a hammering this week. I missed the run last night, but went out this morning. The temps are starting to rise again and it hits me like a wall. Even so on the red arrow I felt strong and was fooled into running hard up the first part of the trail which left my legs screaming as the lactate surged and my heart rate raced and chest even felt tight. Still pushed through for a second lap but more walking then Id have liked on the run back.
Even though I didnt run last night I stepped on the scale just to tease myself and damn if it didnt read back 73.3! Wow Im not sure what happened there, but with the stomach thing the other night and only soup and then last night was a wanton soup and couple of beef rolls from the Vietnamese, it may have been enough to bring the weight down a bit. Im not going to take it as official but weighing in this morning after the run I was so excited to see 72.1! That will kick up through the day as I hydrate and eat, but wow, thats so good to see those numbers again.
i know what I was going to add. I talked these people into doing this repair last year and ive been putting it off ever since. Its a rusted 150mmx50mm beam that is about 18 meters long and sits at along the front of the house that the roof panels are attached to. Its been designed wrong and they cut the roof panels short inline with the beam, so when it rains all the water runs down the beam and sits on top of it. the whole thing is rusted and in 3 places the screws have rusted through and the roof is loose. To replace the beam would be thousands and that wouldnt even fix the problem. they want to sell the house so dont want to spend any more money on it, so I suggested why not weld a couple of plates where the beam has rusted through so the screws can be re attached. great idea they said, do it! The only trouble is I havent welded since i was about 17! I got so excited at the prospect of an excuse to buy a welder I completely forgot this little point. I found a used welder and bought it and did some welds and my poor skills are coming back, but i never did that much to begin with, so not much to come back to. I finally went down and welded one of the plates and its turned out pretty good. Its not like you can see the welds from the ground, so its all good. I don't know why I start over reacting and avoiding completing those sort of jobs.
