Plumbing

I finally finished the plumbing on the downstairs half bath. Id been dragging my feet on it because I knew there were so many tight joints and hook ups to do. The bathroom was going in near a bunch of old plumbing and Id have to cut most of it out or reattach my new lines to all the old existing stuff. When you do this in tight spaces with old pipe there are usually issues, a bad joint, or awkward angles to work in. For all these reasons i decided not to do it with hard copper, but to finally make the jump to use PEX the plastic pipe with joints that are crimped together with a big crimping tool.

So I start and its a bit nerve wracking because not only is this a system i havent used before, and because as I said a lot can go wrong in this situation but also I started on Sunday and Monday was a bank holiday so the supply house would be closed if something came up and i needed more parts.

Im getting into it and its going well and R comes down stairs just as Im crimping one of the joints. the tool clicks as it locks on the joint, she throws her hands up over her ears and makes this face like its the end of the world. I couldnt believe it, the tool literally just makes a click and here she is acting like im scraping my nails down a caulk board. She has already protested to much that Im not allowed to use a saw when she comes home from work, but this was ridiculous. this is what I mean about her lying. this is another example of it, to act like this is so horrible, she makes such a drama out of it and so over reacts, its a lie, its not how she really feels, she is just being dramatic for attention, and i really hate it.

The plumbing went great, i love PEX its so easy after all that soldering of joints.
