Another good friend is moving to the US for a few years. STOP LEAVING ME FOR AMERICA, FRIENDS. This is now 2 good childhood friends who are in the US to persue their own careers, and three whose husbands are getting PhDs or post-docs in the US, and a fourth who is considering her own post-doctor in the US in a year.
I support your careers and families and all but do academics really have to take four-five freaking years? Gah.
