Well, my
yuletide fic HAS WORDS. It is not all of them, but there are SOME and they EXIST. Mostly thanks to
thedeadparrot's reproachful emoticons anytime she saw me online, thanks for that ma'am (I finally ended up logging off chat to avoid temptations/distractions and uh, it worked at least a little bit.)
I'm still behind on reccing, hopefully tomorrow night I'll post some (after my fic's been done amen), and if not then it'll have to be next week; Thursday I'm flying out to Brussels with the fam to visit my sister for the weekend. It will be my first time in Belgium, and my first time in a while being in Europe so close to Christmas, so I'm excited; not to mention of course being excited at seeing baby sister's apartment, seeing her living out in the world like a grown up, and I know she's looking forward to having us visit. The last time I was abroad with both my parents was probably... seven years ago, and same goes for my grandmother, who'll also be joining this trip - and, to be honest, one of the reasons I wanted to join as well, instead of visiting my sister alone sometime, where we can be freer to do whatever we want. But my grandmother's 84, and this might be my last opportunity to travel abroad with her - I dearly hope not, but if I'm being realistic, it's not exactly a long shot - so I'm really glad to have this chance.
Basically I am super looking forward to Thursday and also wish it were a week away because: deadline haha. But I'll get it done. Back to work.
To anyone celebrating, happy, happy Hanukkah, I hope the first evening was filled with joy and light and sugar powder.
