Just caught up on the last two episodes of
The Good Wife
HOLY SHIT
WHAT
SO THAT JUST HAPPENED
PROBABLY EVERYONE WHO HAS SEEN THIS EPISODE ALREADY KNOWS MY REACTION BECAUSE I'VE JUST GONE OVER MY FLIST AND LEFT CAPSLOCKY COMMENTS IN EVERYONE'S POSTS. BUT MY REACTION IS MOSTLY JUST !!!!! LIKE SERIOUSLY I HAVE NOTHING INTERESTING TO SAY ABOUT THIS OTHER THAN MY MIND IS STILL BLOWN, I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT.
Like really, my main conclusion from this episode is that I LOVE BEING UNSPOILED FOR THINGS. I was watching these latest two episodes, and just constantly marveling at how much I fucking love this show and how everyone should watch it ever, and then the last ten minutes happened and by the end of the I was literally pacing the room and clutching my hair like a crazy person, like, that is not a thing that usually happens to me!
As for more serious thoughts about Will going out this way - I agree a lot with what Linda Holmes says in
this column (thanks to
jae for linking!), but for the time being I'm just enjoying my emotional reaction to this, which isn't even sadness at Will's death or anything, just a lot of shock. In the long run, I'm a little disappointed that so many masterfully written plot threads that were so well developed this season will suddenly be thrown off kilter, that we won't see further resolution in the Will/Alicia/Kalinda/Diane/Peter relationship, but it's not an immediate concern at the moment, and anyway it hasn't happened yet. For the moment, 5 seasons of this show are allowing me to give them the benefit of doubt that that will do good things with this and that - despite this deviation from the show's long-standing record in subtlety - I trust that this is not going to turn into Grey's Anatomy: Chicago Law. (Which, I still watch Grey's! It's just not what I watch TGW for.)
ANYWAY WOW SO THAT WAS A THING. I CAN'T BELIEVE KALINDA AND DIANE JUST FOUND HIM LIKE THAT ON A GURNEY OH MY GOD. I DIDN'T EVEN GET A CHANCE TO FLAIL AT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER EPISODE OR ALL OF THE RECURRING CHARACTERS THAT I LOVE SO SO MUCH (ELSBETH!) OR AT KALINDA AND CARY OR WILL AND DIANE OR WILL AND ALICIA. JUST. DAMN.
