Despite only having slept 2.5 hours last night --
1. There was no traffic to Tel Aviv today -- I'd forgotten it was a holiday and less people would be on the roads -- which means I arrived early and had hot cocoa and croissants at the Max Brenner chocolate cafe with a friend.
2. The interview went well, I think, as much as I can tell. The job does not seem fascinating but the workplace looks cool, and I would very much like to get it.
3. 88FM are playing John Lennon songs all day long, which I have not grown tires of yet
Today's tasks include staying awake, deciding whether or not to go to this afternoon's class, beta, and write fic for two ficathons. The good news is that I have a vague idea for the framework of my
yuletide fic, woohoo :-)
All in all, the day seems to be off to a good start.
OH ALSO: The Prime Minister has actually spoken against the idiotic, racist rabbinate declaration that it was against the halacha (=religion) to rent houses to Arabs. This is like when a guy says "sexism is wrong" in that it shouldn't be anything noteworthy, but. It's not even "I'll take what I can get", I'm just glad someone who is actually in power and not in the opposition spoke against it.
Oh shit, I shouldn't read the news when I start a post by saying the day is off to a good start. It looks like the water in the Kinneret (aka Sea of Galilee), Israel's one sweetwater lake and chief water supply, is reaching the black line. I didn't even know there was a black line, I just knew there was a lowest-limit red line that kept dropping over the years as less and less rain/snow water streamed into the Kinneret. So apparently "Smallest amount of water ever recorded enters Kinneret in November; further pumping could cause permanent damage to water supply." Awesome!
Sill a good day though, nach.
