For some inexplicable reason I googled the name "Gerard" in Hebrew, and immediately flinched at how absolutely horrible the name looked spelled in Hebrew, and then I figured that since it was Halloween and all, why don't I just continue to horrify myself by spelling other Bandom people names in Hebrew.
I mean, Gerard Way. ג'ררד וויי. /o\ So we don't have a J sound which means that we use G+' instead, and we don't have a W so we use two Vs, and we don't have consonant Ys at the end of a word so we have to use a double and it still looks weird, and so basically his name looks like G'RRD VVYY. Which is exactly the sort of reason for why I don't do fandom stuff in Hebrew D:
Seriously, this fandom. None of the names are Hebrew compatible!
Gerard Way --ג'ררד וויי -- G'RRD VVYY.
Mikey Way -- מייקי וויי -- MYYKY VVYY. Same issue with Way, and the word Mikey is only just passable.
Frank Iero -- פרנק איירו -- FRNK IYYRO. Iero in Hebrew is pretty awful. I'm not sure whether the I in English is a consonant or a vowel, but it looks bad either way. (PS happy birthday bb ♥)
Ray Toro -- ריי טורו -- RYY TORO. Again with the final Y consonant problem, like in Way, but overall Ray's name is the best of the four. Also lol, "toro" = "his turn", so it just sounds like Ray, his turn a lot.
Ryan Ross -- ריין רוס or ראיין רוס -- RYYN ROS or RAYYN ROS. IDEK. Because if the Y consonant again being in the middle of the word, it's just all weird and unspellable.
Spencer Smith -- ספנסר סמית' -- SPNSR SMIT'. We have no TH, so T+' instead.
Jon Walker -- ג'ון ווקר -- G'ON VVKR. No J and no W, double lose.
Brendon Urie -- ברנדון יורי -- BRNDON YURI. HALLELUJAH someone you can spell. It's still hella awkward, but it's a start?
Pete Wentz -- פיט וונץ -- PIT VVNZ. No W again.
Patrick Stump -- פטריק סטמפ -- PTRIK STMP. P CANNOT BE THE FINAL LETTER OF A WORD. If you end with a P it actually turns into a F, and if you force it to stay a P like I did above it seriously looks like SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD.
And I am dead tired, which is probably the only reason I'm posting crap like this. I should go.
PS -- Adam and Kris are both also hard to spell and pronounce. LE SIGH.
