I signed up for yuletart! That took, like, an hour, and it's kinda scary, buuut I look forward to it! I still do not know whether there'll be a Bandom Secret Santa style exchange this year, but if there is I will sign up, and also
yuletide, and if you see me signing up for anything else SHOOT ME PLEASE.

I see there's some discussion going on about comments, and I'm honestly surprised by this reason some people have for not commenting. I try to comment whenever I can, and when I don't comment on a story I liked it might be for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with how much I enjoyed the story itself, but it will never have to do with me feeling like I'm intruding into someone's journal. It's fic! It's there for public consumption, not just the journal owner's flist/dwircle. IDK, I don't get that logic. Maybe I'm not getting something, but I can't think of why any author would ever think to themselves, "Why is this random person commenting on my story :///" instead of "Oh hey, someone found my story! :D".

Also I have to say, having read about some people being worried about the state of (low) commenting at the AO3 -- as much as I love the AO3, I don't actually see it as a replacement for posting fic on LJ/DW, nor do I need it to be one. So while I love getting comments there as much as I do anywhere, the fact that in general stories seem to get fewer comments there doesn't actually bother me. I guess it might if I posted solely to the AO3, but, well, I don't. Just like I didn't post solely to ff.net back when I used it. The AO3 does have a much more convenient comment/reply interface than ff.net, of course, and as a reader I'm more inclined to leave a comment at the AO3 than at ff.net -- but it's still not the same as LJ/DW, where with a single click on someone's name you can know their profile, their interests, what they've blogged about for the past two weeks, and who your mutual friends are (well, okay, two clicks). I love having conversations, even if they're as short as ":D!" "Thank you!", here. It's just a little different.

I watched some more TV this week! Here are my thoughts in a few sentences:

Merlin 3x03: On the one hand, Arthur's donkey ears: douze points! LOL, he Bradley James nailed that joke so hard. On the other hand, fart jokes: MINUS ONE MILLION POINTS. God, I know this isn't anything new, but SERIOUSLY THIS IS NOT THE TV I LIKE TO WATCH. All in all the episode was kind of boring and I watched most of it just listening with my earphones, except for the parts about Merlin being a wizard, which was really really awesome. And now we have even more of a justification for Merlin to keep it a secret, because he now has proof that despite years of dedicated service, apparently Uther has no qualms about executing him anyway. And Arthur believing Merlin, that was sweet. However, seriously, if he wasn't suspecting anything so far, at least tell me he is now.

...yeah, he probably isn't.

House 7x02: I liked the patient! And I liked the clinic (clinic! ♥). I didn't love everything else.

Mad Men 4x10: Sally getting to see the Beatles made me SQUEE OUT LOUD WITH HER :D Also omg, Joan. And omg, Don's panic attack. So well done. (LOL, I just typed 'Panic attack' instead of 'panic attack'. This is like when I was in House fandom and I always just automatically capitalized the word house.)

Chuck 4x02: I don't know. I wasn't loving it :(. The parts I enjoyed most were Casey and Beckman. Just, nothing really hooked me in this episode.

HIMYM 6x02: A few jokes made me cringe, but overall I enjoyed it and Wayne Brady is forever awesome and NPH had me cracking up at every piano scene ♥.

Hawaii Five-O 1x02: I didn't plan to but somehow ended up watching episode 2, and actually ended up liking it a lot more than the first! Basically going aw, yay team :D I agree with what
mardia said, which was "Scott Caan is delightful, Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim are ALSO delightful and very pretty, and Alex O'Loughlin is playing a d-bag". But, like, an annoying d-bag, not the kind "we love to hate". And also the rest of the stuff she said. But at least I like Scott Caan now, which I really did not in the first episode. And I like having a team to root for. New teams, that first season where everyone's still learning about one another and learning how to trust and work together, well, they're kind of fun.

Brothers and Sisters 5x01: I'd actually stopped watching halfway through season 4 and just watched this season premier out of curiosity. So weird to see them again! Justin's hair is graying! Omg. Otherwise, it's the Walkers. Things change, things stay the same.

And finally, The Good Wife 2x01: JASON STREET! PRINCE HUMPERDINK! Okay, I actually loved Scott Porter as Jason Street (and as the Pop! Goes My Heart dude), but he's kind of annoying as this character. Or the character's annoying. I don't mind having him around as long as it's kept clear that Kalinda is always awesome/er.

As for everything else: I LOVE ALICIA FLORRICK. SO MUCH. I love the new partner in the firm. I love the acknowledgment that Will inviting him to the basketball game was totally an old boy's club move, and I really hope Diane isn't left out of the equation; I trust her to fend for herself, though. I hate that Will's message was never delivered (such a lazy trope, god), and I'm sorry, I'm happy Alicia is getting some orgasms but I HATE PETER and wish it were not with him :(. Not that it has to be with Will necessarily, even, but just. I really, really dislike Peter. I'm happy this show is back! This is the show that I always remember that I enjoy watching but never really remember why, and then I open the file and start watching and remember.
