question: Can I skip the previous 'was written by a childish monkey' episode and go straight to downloading this episode? Will I actually miss something?

You will miss nothing! This is a total stand alone. (However, last episode was also okay, I think. It was much better than the troll eps, although that's not saying much.)

Anyway, yeah, you can jump straight to this one, no problem. Waaaatch eeeet.
