But I am, cause we put up the tree. It's finally Christmas, which is definitely my favorite season. I brought home probably the biggest tree I ever had cause my parent's house is old, so the ceilings are small, and the townhouse wasn't much bigger. But this thing is huge and it looks really swanky.
Oh, right, the new tree is made possible by the new house, which was long overdue. Not that I didn't like living on the Landing, or nothin'. You got a nice view of the city and the house was pretty nice and lots of my teammates lived there, which was partially the problem, but a real plus when I moved in. The X-Box parties just sorta became not what I'm all about anymore though.
Oh, speaking of the X-Box, the 360 was so worth the $800 I spent for it. I know, it's retailing at $400, but you just gotta pay the extra when you couldn't reserve a copy on release day. Anyway, everyone should go get it, and then play me in X-Box Live. I never said I was completely over it. I actually played Kyle Orton today through that, and he's the QB for the team we're facing next, so that's sorta cool.
But I'm sorta going off the point. The new house is awesome and huge. There's like 4 guest rooms, so please visit and be impressed. There's marble and a chandalier right above the door and I don't even know how to clean it but I'm sure I'll figure it out. The big draw was the backyard, which is pretty big, but also fenced in so I don't have to walk Zeus if I don't want to, he can go out his dog door. I'm gonna make a fire pit out there too for the summertime. And there's an overhang so I can still barbecue in the winter. Awesome.
So...football. I mean, not the best season, I had surgery on my knee which was pretty quick but kept me out of a couple of games, and now my thumb's wonky. I'm pretty sure I need surgery on it after the season, and of course it's my throwing hand thumb, so I gotta wear a split when I throw or else I can't even grip a ball. But I am not lettin' them take me out of games, we're teetering on a playoff spot as it is and until we're 100%, definitely, positively out I am stayin' in. But we can still make the playoffs, no big. Just gotta get a little more confident.
Last couple games've sucked a bit anyhow. I was a little angry at the Colts, they play in a dome and they miked it. They miked it, I saw microphones all around the top of the dome, what else are they there for? I dunno if it's the same in other sports, prolly not, but that's a huge disadvantage in football. Cause makin' the crowd noise louder means I gotta scream louder for my team to hear the snap count, which obviously didn't work well cause we got, what, 5 off-sides? I'm okay with natural crowd noise, that's just crazy fans, but miking is dirty and I told the press about it and hopefully somethin'll be done. This week's Chicago, so we'll see. They been doin' pretty good lately, but we gotta win this.
I guess I'll probably go to bed now, although the urge to finish decorating the tree is pretty bad. But Coach has been riding us hard in practice, to the point where I was supposed to be on Wheel of Forture yesterday and I cancelled cause I didn't wanna be out of town on my off-day. A little disappointed, but I was sorta nervous anyway, I mean, game shows, right? I didn't wanna look like a jerk. Maybe next year.
Oh, and someone tell Mark that the new beard does not look stupid.
