Home, Patriots, etc.

So I'm home - Ohio home. We got a bye week up, and coach cancelled afternoon practice so we could all leave, no practice til Monday and then the Chargers. I gotta say, I'm pretty banged up from this past week, and I was grousin' earlier on how our bye week was so early, but I ain't sayin' nothin' now. I'm just fine with it. It's Findlay's Homecoming, too, so I'm here to chaperone my little sister and her date. Make sure he doesn't try anything, make sure the punch isn't spiked, the usual.

So we had the Patriots this week. I been feeling pretty good, we done real well against the Titans and Texans, which are teams which we shoulda done well, anyhow. And then the Patriots...knew it'd be our first test of the season, and it wasn't so good. Not bad - not like last time I lost to em...but any loss isn't good. Felt like I matured from last season, wasn't panicked on the field, but I was still runnin' everywhere, and I hate that feeling. They broke my o-line down pretty bad and that's real rare, cause in mind I got the best line in the whole game. Those boys do a great job, but they had an off-day, me too.

Got banged up pretty bad on my left shoulder. They thought I sprained it, at first, but it wouldn't matter anyway. I don't use the left arm for nothin', really, and I knew I was goin' back in, but it got bad after that. Had to scramble a lot, and that hurt. I got full mobility back now, basically. It'll still be a nice bye week.

But I just hate losing to the Patriots. I said it once, I'll say it again - Tom's the best QB in the game today, they got a great team, but so do we. I'm just sick of it. 16-2's my personal record, that statistic don't matter none except that -2 is both from the Pats, and...well. Rather lose to em now than the playoffs, that ain't the point. I'm not happy with my performance, no one is, but this team ain't peaked yet, we'll get better.

I did get to punt though. I could see the Patriots confused, I was backin' up, much further than the shotgun, back to punt range. Punted a little bit in college, and I was sorta surprised they called that, but. It wasn't a bad one, I did it left-footed cause it only needed to go 38 yards - it went 39, unfortunately, but I was still satisfied. So now I've officially got one punt to my name. A punter! Freaks.

We did have a clock error on the game though, I guess, I didn't notice it really. It added another 52 seconds to the game, which sorta sucks bein' the Pats prolly wouldn't have had that last drive without it. Still don't matter, they can't change the outcome of the game, and we shoulda had it won even without that, but fans're angry over it.

Next week'll be good though. Chargers. San Diego. Our first Monday night game. All of you should watch, cause that's spotlight, man.
