Quick Update
Haven't been around much lately, but between work, family, and my beloved, I have been very busy.
-My week of filling in for the dock manager went extremely well despite some very idiotic truck drivers who didn't know what they were doing. Got both trucks done ahead of schedule and well below the budgeted hours as well as getting a bunch of other projects done for the store manager.
-My stint as Dock manager is going to be short lived however since he is coming back this week. I guess he figures that keeping busy and keeping his mind off of what happened will be the best thing. It is going to be kind of awkward for a while, but hopefully things won't be too weird.
-My brother Tony and my nephew Andrew came down to visit and stay the week to celebrate Andrews birthday and to pick up the Christmas/Birthday presents. I spent the whole day Saturday running around the Quad Cities with my nephew and having a good time.
-Yesterday I spent most of the day out at my parents house hanging out with my family having a great fried catfish dinner and spending time with both of my nephews since Roger and his family came down for the day. Later that night I got to spend an hour or so talking with Phyllis on the phone, so that made me happy.
-Today went fairly well despite everything being covered in a sheet of ice with rain falling and making everything extremely slippery. Getting in to work was a bit of a nerve wracking experience, but I made it there fairly easily. We actually had a really small truck for a change, which was a nice change of pace from our usual large trucks we had been getting in lately. We got it unloaded and processed in about 5 hours despite the fact that 3 people didn't make it in to work.
-Tomorrow will kind of suck, but hopefully it won't be too bad. We have to paint 15 wooden tables white to replace some fixtures that they are getting rid of for some reason. Painting isn't too difficult, it's just that it can get a bit messy sometimes. So I am going to try and find some suitably crappy clothes to work in.
Thats about all thats been happening lately. Hopefully this week of work goes by quickly. Next week I am going up to Chicago to spend another extended weekend with Phyllis. I can't wait!
