Watched the new episode of the latest season of Survivorman on the Discovery channel. It has been one of my favorite shows from the time I first seen it on tv. And the new season premier didn't disappoint, but it seemed like he brought a lot more "comfort" items (like a sleeping bag and a days worth of food). But I did like the fact that they coincided Les getting out of there with a Search and Rescue team exercise drill to make the scenario even more realistic.
But, I just read today that this is going to be the last season of the only REAL survial show on Discovery (don't even mention that phoney hotel-staying pretty boy "Bear" Grylls). But like Les said, going 7 days without much food while sleeping on rocks takes it't toll on you.
I am really sad to see the show go, but I definitly understand why the 47 year old survivial expert and Blues musician has decided to hang it up. Here is a link to the article
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_stroud I love the little dig he does towards "Bear" Grylls... "It takes a lot out of me as I really do what I do for real, with no camera crew, no nights in hotels like others do, and it takes a toll on my body," Stroud told Reuters.
Definitly going to have to buy the other DVD sets when they become available (after Christmas at least).
