Of friends and the fourth...
Last night I got a call from my friends saying they were heading over to a local bar here in Galesburg and wanted to know if I wanted to go have a couple of drinks and hang out.
I said sure and got ready, made it over there around 11. They got there right about the same time I did. I almost forgot how much I despise bars. It was loud (they had a live band that had their speakers turned up way too high for such a crammed environment), VERY hot and crowded, and not really much fun at all. Plus the place had this whole "meat market" kind of feel to it. People trying as hard as they can to look cool and successful, desperatly trying to find someone to hook up with. Thats just sad, plain and simple.
Still I did get to hang out with my friends for a bit. We sat and bullshitted for a while. They just got done watching the Transformers movie. Karen and Joe kinda liked it, but weren't crazy over it. And Mike didn't really like it at all *shrugs*. I loved it, and I will probably go and see it again tomorrow. and probably again Friday *lol*.
We stayed there about an hour and a half before leaving the bar and spent about another half an hour just sitting around and chatting without all the noise. We made tenative plans (yet again) to get together and hang out today and maybe watch a movie or go out to the lake and watch the fireworks.
Plans fell through yet again, big surprise *lol*. I think Mike had a thing with his family to go to. Not sure what Joe and Karen wound up doing, but I think they went and watched the fireworks in Peoria (since they live closer to there).
Oh well, I really didn't feel like going out and doing anything tonight anyway. Going to that crappy bar last night kind of killed the social kick I got into here lately *lol*. I spent today getting A LOT done on my role-playing system. Actually, I've spent a lot of time during the past couple of weeks working on my rpg system. I got a ton done on it. I got the random NPC generator made and got the blank monster sheet done and now I am busy making sample monsters, races, and mythic creatures for it now :)
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a happy and safe 4th of July.
