I really am thankful to have family and friends who truly care for me. Throughout the day yesterday that was magnified by Valentine Cards that I received and well wishes from friends. I think you appreciate Valentine Day cards more from friends because you know they don't have to give them to you but they do anyway. I look more on the family aspect of Valentines as a well I should do this. However, I know my Mommy did not have to mail me a package and pay five dollars for it to send me trinkets for Valentines Day, including a really cool necklace and an outfit for church that I had left at home. A girl can never have too much jewelry. So I truly appreciate Mommy thinking about me on Valentines, especially because I did not send out cards. Besides the Valentines I have received a good deal of chocolate, normally this would be good but not now! I am trying to get "fit" and I have all of this chocolate and I am a chocoholic, you ask anyone and they will verify that for you. I am fine as long as I don't have the chocolate but now I do so you can imagine it might go bye bye pretty fast. Hmm I think I will try to share the chocolate with my roomie and see if she will have some.
Last night for Valentines I went over to my friend Natalie's apartment. I was excited because it is the first time I have seen her place and she has done a good job of making it feel homey. While I was there I watched a movie called Luther, which does not pertain to anything having to do with Valentines Day but it is a good movie. I liked it because it gave you a little more background behind the Reformation of the Church and helped you to understand what exactly was happening at that time. While I was at this get together one of the girls gave all of us poems about how we are the Bride to Christ (I had heard this analogy before several times) but the poem was really touching and reminded us that we don't need a man on Valentines Day! I pray that everyone can have as good of a support system of friends and family as I have while they are in college because I think it makes a big difference in your life.
Also, I am relieved to say I finally finished my paper on the song Keep on the Sunny Side! Whew, I should not have waited so long to write that paper. To everyone who is not in as bubbly a mood as I am here is some encouragement from the song:
The storm and its fury rage today
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear,
Clouds and storm will in time pass away
The sun again will shine bright and clear.
Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side
Keep on the sunny side of life,
It will help us every day, it will brighten all our way
If we keep on the sunny side of life.
