It warms my heart that at that Irish screening of Parked there were family and friends of Colin attending.

I'd love to see pics of his mum and dad. I want to see who he gets his looks from.

I'd love to see his Mum and Dad. Hope he didn't say what he was reported to have said though, whatever his private views are. It would be very unprofessioanl and thoughtless if he did.

What's he reported to have said? (Hard to imagine him saying or doing anything unprofessional or thoughtless.)

A tweeter there on the night said he 'kinda slagged off the English'. I want his exact words before I judge because he could have been misrepresented or taken out of context. I desperately hope so as I adore him and wouldn't want him to be a racist. However 'socially acceptable' that type of racism seems to be.

You're joking! In his opening speech he said in passing that a lot of people thought, because of his role in Merlin, that he was a "little English boy," rather than Irish. He didn't mean it in a racist, slanderous, or even serious way. It was funny, and charming, and everyone laughed. That's it. Please put your mind at rest! :)

There was no slagging off the English whatsoever, I was there.

He was talking about the fact that most people think "he is a little English boy that went to some public school" because of his accent in Merlin and he was glad to be in Belfast using his real accent.

He did not mean any disrespect whatsoever, he is far too polite and nice for that. He was just happy to be home and being himself with friends and family and other people that talk like him. He really seemed to enjoy himself, talking animately with other guys his age, just being a normal 25 year old on a night out (minus some promotional stuff like photos with the Lord Mayor of Belfast)

Thank you for putting that straight!

The whole event sounds as something wonderful for Colin and it must have been great being a witness to that ♥

Ah, that's lovely. Glad that his family and friends are supporting him like that.
