Arthur and Merlin are students and arch enemies who, much to the frustration of their long-suffering teachers, are tangled in a one-upman-ship of pranks. But every once in a while they get caught off guard and their affection is starting to show, just for a moment. And optimistic young teacher Miss Slater has her suspicion.

This is not the kind of fic I usually rec or even read for that matter, but I was in the mood for Arthur to help and comfort a seriously hurt Merlin. And this fic delivers.
Merlin and Arthur are kidnapped by bandits seeking ransom. When Merlin is assaulted by a guard, he's forced to use his magic in front of Arthur. Merlin comes out of this badly hurt and buzzing with panic but the way Arthur reacts, manages to coax Merlin back to his senses again, how they work together, how Arthur takes care of Merlin, Merlin's resilience... It's all unbelievably satisfying. I love how strong they both are and as much as I hate seeing Merlin hurt, I love seeing Arthur being good for Merlin. Love the affection and trust between them.
'Drawing straws', 'Chivalrous or whatever' and 'A new system' by lolafeist (Arthur/Gwaine, Arthur/Merlin, 14,200 words, other pairings mentioned, American high school AU, NC-17)
Three fics in what has been dubbed along the way as the Waffles verse. In the first one Merlin walks in on Arthur giving Gwaine a handjob in the locker rooms and almost gets caught wanking by them. In the second one Merlin and Arthur hook up and things get hot and sensual and include a shower. But when they're not alone things get tense and Gwaine has to explain some things about Arthur to Merlin. In the third one there's more waffles and sex and things get worked out.

I love this Esca, being a little too free and easy, Marcus valiantly trying to do the right thing until he realizes the right thing to do is just give in. I love the fun and the passion.

Fierce and fiery Esca, so fearless and unashamed, so clear in what he wants, just the way I love him. And Marcus, more thoughtful and not so much restrained as a little more contained.
