Doctor Who

Short, non-spoiler reaction: I'm sold ♥

I had hardly been spoiled for this episode. Just knew what Eleven, the new companion and the Tardis would look like, and that was about it. So I'm going to do a dash/remark kind of 'review':

- I loved how it was immediately clear who the little girl was, and boy did they pick a great kid for this! The girl was wonderful, loved her immediately and my heart ached when I saw her packing her little suitcase to go and sit waiting for the Doctor to return.

- It took me until after the whole eating thing to get used to the Doctor, because I disliked him for reacting so violently disgusted to all the girl's efforts of getting him the food he wanted. Also the bit with the fishfingers and custard was a bit much *gags*

- The exact moment things clicked for me was when I saw the door ajar in the background; goosebumps!! Yay, that's my kind of Doctor Who scene! Although the thing with the crack and the gigantic eye was great too. But the door was definitely a classic Moffat moment.

- What an introduction of Amy! I love everything about her! She's clever enough to be scared, bold enough to fight it, combines being girlishly adorable with legs that go on forever sexy. Loved how she never stopped thinking for herself, drawing her own conclusions, never letting herself be rushed but being quick once she'd made up her mind etc. etc. Ok, I may be in love...

- Those transmorphed creatures were freaking scary! Didn't mind the snake-with-teeth so much, but the barking man, the mixed up voices, the moment mouths tear open... yikes!

- Oh man, so many details I loved! The wild energy of the Doctor. The fire-engine. How much the Doctor is this weird combination of annoying ('yeah, I know you've been waiting for years, sorry about that, but you'll come with me anyway right?') and indeed irresistible. The Doctor calling back the aliens to lecture them and make known that hello, this is the Doctor by the way and he's got a bowtie so you better pay attention. All the Doctors flashing by. The inside of the Tardis all steampunk and random. And how damn much I'm already looking forward to more.

I love that I watched it with Mr. RC, youngest son and daughter and we were all enthusiastic and talked about it afterward. Especially youngest is a real Doctor Who fan and I love sharing that.

And by the way, I'd actually like it if there would be some sort of romantic thing between the Doctor and Amy :D

I was just thinking I don't have an appropriate icon, but it turns out I do actually ;p

doctor who, fandom experience, my kids
