This isn't so much a report as an impression and let me get this out of the way first; unfortunately I don't have pictures and this is why: ( (cut for bad picture) )
Yes, the room was filled nicely, everyone was very enthusiastic, they got a warm welcome and more hands up from people with questions than actually got a turn (no awkward 'Questions? Anyone...?' moments!) and there was an impressive queue for the autographs, so that was lovely :D
Wow, you had an exciting weekend! That recap was lovely for the people who couldn't go to the Expo. Always nice to go with people who are just as obsessed as you are. Hehe
Just a question about that picture you posted of Jan Wolkers, does his sweatshirt say "Missouri University"(Missouri is a state in the US, where I'm from)? I thought it strange since he was Dutch, like you said, or maybe he was eccentric like that and picked up different shirts for no reason. Just my musings...
I thought that was strange too. Is there a Missouri University? I would assume it would be called "University of Missouri."Sometimes I see people in Europe wearing very "American" college shirts and some are obviously just made up.
No, there isn't a Missouri University, but maybe 40 years ago before there was "University of Missouri". It was probably a private college until Missouri decided to make it a public college system, IDEK.
Uhm, that picture is a very old one, good chance it's from when it was still a private college and walking around in a US University sweater was still considered a cool thing to do. Jan Wolkers died in 2007 of old age in his sleep. Karina is still very much alive though (she's sixty something now, but still looking gorgeous). There was an age-difference of 21 years between them.
This is the first report I've seen (maybe I stopped watching one of the communities with the most squee...) but it seems like everyone's enthusiasm is dying down *is sad*
There was a question about the beer cans on the table in episode 2x4 and Johnny said this could either be a wink at the observant fans or something they missed in their hurry to get the episode ready. It was up to us to decide which it was.
It has to be a wink... I mean, props have to actually be found/created and placed there so it can't be a mistake.
Oh, I'm pretty sure too the beer cans were there on purpose! Johnny didn't want to say it as such, but the remark about how it was up to us to decide which it was, was Johnny's, not mine!
Oh, and in case you're curious, I answered hanabi14's question about the Missouri University sweater *points up*
