So this is my fill for the fifth, and final, line which should mean I have a full card!
Once more this is all fic recs with community standard information under the cuts!
Humour
Title:
A Crime They Didn't CommitAuthor:
siegeofangelsRating: PG
Word Count approx. 545
Genre: Humour, Crack
Warnings: None...maybe no eating while reading?
Spoilers/Stage Set: Season 2 - 3
Characters Other Than Rodney: John, Ronon, Teyla, OC military and Lorne. Mention of Elizabeth and the characters of an 80's TV show.
Summary: A crime they didn't commit, in five parts.
Additional notes: Author also writes non-Gen. Don't want, don't poke!
Why Recced:This starts serious. Then it meets Lorne who, second to John himself, is SGA's gift to keeping a straight face in front of a senior, but not superior, officer. This is just so funny, I laugh out loud every time I get to parts four and five. This is also laced with such affection for it's inspiration. I adore this a ridiculous amount!

While You Were OutAuthor:
Mad MaudlinRating: G
Word Count approx. 1,880
Genre: Humour
Warnings: Listed as Apocofic. More Seceding fic imho!
Spoilers/Stage Set: Off end of Season 3, AU (Doesn't flow with Season 4)
Characters Other Than Rodney: John, Ronon, Satedans and Chuck. Mention of the "Daedalus", Jack O'Neill (SG1), Elizabeth, the IOA, Radek, Lorne, the "Apollo" and Ellis, Jeannie, Woolsey, Tok'ra, Genii and Simpson.
Summary: John was asleep. He missed some stuff.
Additional notes: Author also writes non-Gen.
Why Recced: John wakes up from what he thought was a suicide-run to save Atlantis. Again! Instead he finds Rodney waiting for him and ends up dragging detail after detail out of an end-of-his-tether Rodney. I do have a love of manic, strung-out Rodney! This is full of brilliant lines and snark but what I really adore is the idea of Rodney leading the expedition from crisis to crisis, swept along often by events and yet utterly determined to protect the people of Atlantis any way he can. John's finishing sentiment is just beautiful.
Quote: (About the Genii) "They're really very lovely people if you can ignore the paranoid authoritarianism and the fact that they glow in the dark."

Title:
Dog DaysAuthor:
argosyRating: PG for minor language.
Word Count approx. 13,500
Genre: Friendship
Warnings: None
Spoilers/Stage Set: After Season 4 "Outcast"
Characters Other Than Rodney: John, Ronon, Teyla, Radek, Lorne, Sam, OC civilisation, General Hank Landry (SG1), Simpson, Jeannie, Madison, Kaleb and various Expedition Marines and Scientists
Written For Prompt: Artificial Intelligence
Summary: "It's a dog," Rodney said. "For all intents and purposes."
Additional notes: Author mostly writes non-Gen.
Why Recced: Ah, John and Rodney! Completely rubbish at expressing how they feel, little boy-like in their enthusiasm and devoted friends to each other. I love Rodney viewing his only two ways, after using Teyla, to get John to say what's wrong is sci-fi accompanied by Canadian beer! I adored going on this ride with Rodney's enthusiasm and clumsy need to make his friend feel better completely overcoming his common sense!
The interaction between Rodney and Sam, with all the history they have together and separately, is beautiful too!
Grief
Title:
Who's Left and Who's LeavingAuthor:
fiercelydreamedRating: G
Word Count approx. 9,500
Genre: Angst, Friendship
Warnings: Mild language, character death, temporary belief of major character death
Spoilers/Stage Set: Years after Season 4 but AU from the end of it.
Characters Other Than Rodney: John, Teyla, Ronon, Lorne, Keller, Halling, OC Expedition personnel, Sam Carter and Radek. Mention of OC Athosians, Kannia (OC daughter of Teyla), Replicators, Wraith, SGC, the IOA, Radek's family, the Miller family, Sumner, Carson, Ford and Elizabeth.
Summary: "No names," Rodney tells them, one more time. "And no dates -- I'm serious about that. No one can know what anyone else is planning." John learns the structures of life and death.
Additional notes: Author mainly writes non-Gen.
Why Recced: People use the phrase fandom classic quite often. This is one of them, and rightly so. Usually recced as a Future fic or Atlantis Expedition abandon Earth, I've picked it for the grief in it, which never fails to be heart wrenching whenever I read it.
The story is told from John's pov and due to the necessary secrecy surrounding Expedition members sneaking off, coupled with the fact that as head of the Military he can't know, means he doesn't know for certain if people are really dead or have just made themselves vanish. This builds and builds until just, "Oh!". I can't say any more without spoilers but the campfire scene is truly powerful, especially for what goes unsaid.

Partners In CrimeAuthor:
Tazmy or
sgatazmyRating: PG-13 (for swearing)
Word Count approx. 3,971
Genre: Drama, Friendship
Warnings: Passing reference to animal from Author's previous stories.
Spoilers/Stage Set: Season 2 - 3
Characters Other Than Rodney: John, OC military, OC prison staff, Teyla and Ronon. Mention of Elizabeth and Radek.
Summary:John and Rodney were willing to risk anything to save their teammates. One Shot.
Additional notes: Author very rarely writes Het.
Why Recced: John and Rodney as Partners in Crime, in more than just should-know-better mischief, is both fun and a deep friendship story. There is a great sense of the strength of the bonds of friendship and friends sticking together, ranging from John and Rodney, to the team, to the whole of Atlantis against the IOA/American military!
