Well, I'm a day away from my first trip down to Charlottesville for three days for the "Festival of the Photograph."
Sunday, Me, grant and Andy caught the "Summer Slaughter" tour at Jaxx. One bad part though is, the headlining band Necrophagist didn't perform. Why you ask? Cause they were not allowed into the country by US Immigration Services. Why you ask? Well, the US gave a bunch of bullshit reasons, but all of us knew that the real reason was that the lead singer (a 5'5" white guy) happens to be named Muhammed. I guess German death metal bands fall under the category of terrorists, eh?
The rest of the show was still well worth going to see though. We caught an incredibly good performance by a band called Daath. We saw Arsis yet again (Me and Grant's third time, Andy's second) but this time they had a new bassist, drummer, and vocalist. They were still amazing though. Danville, VA's finest. Cattle decapitation were entertaining as always, but it was the headlining set by Decapitated which made the night perfect. When they played the song "Spheres of Madness," that was one of the few times in my career of going to metal shows, that I've seen everyone in the club collectively mosh and headbang in unison at once. Fucking incredible. It was painful though, cause after that song began, the girl in front of me threw her head back, and caught me square in the jaw. I swear the bottom half of my mouth was off 2 inches to the right the rest of the night... Oh well.
Just been working the past coupla days. I'm heading down to Harrisonburg tomorrow, gonna give Paul a call, and then me and him will head down to C-Ville Thursday morning. This Festival should be fun, and it should be waaaaaaay more interesting than that seminar I went to in Pittsburgh, uggh.
Catch you all on Sunday. Later.
