He is John Connor.

Skin like silk.

Have to stay safe, can’t get sick, don’t you dare risk catching something that could kill you. Trained to kill a man with any number of things lying around. Proficient in two dozen models of firearm, and many more varieties thereof.

Girls his own age had the same danger that older women possessed: it was impossible to ask them for a blood workup or a full medical history. Tends to kill the mood.

Moves just-so, eliciting an organic response from John. She’s quiet, is always quiet.

That leaves only one option. Cameron. Model number unknown. No doubt she knows, but she’s never said. Only that she’s from 2027.

She’s gauged his safety at 98%...can’t be safer than that, as the stability of the bed could change at any time, a bullet could fly through the window…the two percent is what Cameron can’t control. Even model 111 himself could only process so much information at a time.

Skin doesn’t flush. Lips don’t do anything. Pupils stay exactly the same. Her tell-nothing pulse stays maddeningly calm.

She’d gotten more exercise in a fight with Cromartie.

He was *the* John Connor, savior of mankind. It was he who would bring down Skynet once and for all.

Their first time, his first time, she knew exactly what to do. Given Skynet’s limiting the programs of those that go back, it was a little worrying. Or it meant her first time had been with an older John Connor. Was that irony or sarcasm? He’d given up trying to tell.

He’d asked her once to try saying something, anything. So, in what should’ve been the height of passion, Cameron played back recordings of women screaming “oh God!” full of tears. John threw up, knowing a tortured voice when he heard it.

Since then, he hasn’t complained that Cameron’s been silent. Prefers it, now.

Just one more secret he keeps. Not from his mom - who’s known about the whole thing, probably arranged it with Cameron - but from the girlfriend he’s kept since they’d moved; gone to high school and college, and now are in postgrad together, studying under a semi-retired police officer.

He’s learned a lot from Detective Morgan.

Cameron’s got no vulnerable look, not one ticklish spot. Silly as it sounds, John finds vulnerability sexy.

He is John Connor, whose entire life had been guided towards a single outcome.
