“I thought you would be pleased to hear,” Lester tells me over the phone, and there’s a soft giggling on his end - sounds like he’s getting more action than I did these last eight years - “I’ve found one ‘Claudia Brown’ formerly of the Home Office.”
“Formerly?” I ask, ignoring the ducks paddling about the pond.
“Hm, yes. Seems a few months ago she requested a transfer. And a holiday. Been in Sheffield up to three days ago.”
“Think I could talk with her?”
“Not on my nickel. Good luck.”
