* I have a feeling he has Rebel sympathies...why else would he leave his son in walking distance of the Rebel HQ? (and the fight ensures that his son is determined to destroy him - and the Republic)

* with all the people who seem to have private bring-the-power-back-ons, the miracle may actually be that nobody offered their devices to any of the nation (re)builders before now.
* On one hand, yes, its bad that the boy's dead. On the other hand, now we won't have to keep wondering "how many times is he going to run into traffic trouble this episode?"
...On the gripping hand, now he's become a martyr to their cause and a motivator for them to want revenge. (i know the writing phrase is "make it personal" - but haven't they already made it plenty personal several times over?)
...though with that device the mom dug out of his corpse, did that affect his brain any?
