There were only a few things that could make Joan Watson stop helping Holmes, but this was definitely one of them.

Not that I know what you'd do with it, but there's always the line from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: "You left just when you were getting interesting."
No worries. I don't think I managed more than a quick browse of my friends list when I wasn't logged in for most of December myself. I'm just trying to stick to a fic snippet a day, so now I'm around the internet more. Not sure that's necessarily a good thing...

If only he knew how often that phrase gets used in my family, Joan thought to herself as she reached the suite's door and unlocked it to admit herself.
"Hi, Grandpa," Watson said, coming over to give him a quick hug before she sat down in the chair beside his wheelchair.
"How's my favorite granddaughter?" Indy asked.
"At a crossroads."
"When in doubt, go -"
"On an adventure," they both said in unison.
"I've said it a few times?" Indy jested. Off her nod, "Think you could bring me? The colleges don't ask me to sub as often as they used to, and there's not as much to do here as I'd like."
My God, what ( ... )

I just had to smile as I read it. :)
So... as many prompts as I like? What if you explored this one a little:
My God, what hijinks would my grandfather and Sherlock get into?

Sherlock just looked at her. "I must say, Watson, that I'm stunned. Your grandfather and I were simply having a lighthearted discussion of what entertainments the three of us might seek this evening - and your mind goes straight to the whips, it seems." Stranger still, as she hasn't remarked on my whips since she saw them when we first met.
"If you know my academic record as well as you seem to," Indy said, "then her comment should make complete sense."
"It does. So, to a museum, then?"
Watson coughed.
"I have this habit of repatriating things that were illegally gained, Mr. Holmes," Indy remarked. "Even if its been a hundred fifty years in their collection."
"Right. Fine dining?"
"Beer."
"And no snakes," Watson said, and relished the look of confusion - puzzlement? - on Sherlock's face.
"That's the last time I take you to Vietnam on your birthday," Indy told her.
"That was the only time you took me to Vietnam," Joan said. I was ten and...faced with snakes and small birds in large bottles of alcohol." ( ... )
