Okay, I'm going to be difficult.

I think, anyway.

Let's see... Falling Skies and... Foyle's War.

And is that the US or UK version of Life on Mars?

hm, tough one - may need a few minutes.

well, I know the UK version better, but I can give the American one a try.

(and great icon)

Ah, well, I thought I'd try making it a bit challenging. Take as long as you need.

So... Life on Mars, you pick which one, and... Either Sliders or Primeval.

I'm a bit indecisive. :P

(and thanks. It's one of my favorites and so very true for me at times.)

Primeval/Life on Mars (UK)
Claudia Brown/Sam

Both can attest to the sense of unreality that can, from time to time, wash over a person. They regard one another as anchors, points they can cling to when they would not otherwise be sure or certain what is real, what is in one's head, and what is something else entirely. That and the sex is good.

The anomalies all opened one day to the 1960s and 1970s, and would never close. Lady Emily took one look at their outfits and said "And you lot think my clothes are strange?"

I really like the way you phrased that. :)

Falling Skies/Foyle's War
Milner/Anne

They've both loved and lost and have seen the horrors of lawlessness and war firsthand. They know what they like, and they treasure their friends dearly. And they value quiet and peace, things all too rare in both their times.

That and she knows things about the foot that, when tickled, would have him surrendering very quickly. :)

It took a while to uncover, but it turned out that the Skitters did not simply invade Earth, decapitating nations and standing aside while 90% of the panicked survivors died.

They had invaded Earth every year at the same time. Or one invasion per decade - communication between humans in different invaded times was difficult at best. But every so often, you could get through, bodily through, without the aging you'd do if you simply lived from one of those years to another. (and you wouldn't see another invasion there anyway - that was the point of simaltaneously ( ... )

Simultaneous invasions. That would be very interesting.

Well, not exactly simultaneous, but kind of...

Them destroying the Nazis. Very intriguing. Heroes or liberators or still monsters?

well, in the sense of each invasion-timespot being hit at the same...time. yeah, English fails at temporal warfare. :D

>Them destroying the Nazis. Very intriguing. Heroes or liberators or still monsters?
probably depends on who you ask - I imagine they did the same thing in WW2 that they did in the show Falling Skies...the Nazis just happen to be one of the governments and militaries hacked to bits.

Yes, that's true. I did some time travel action sequences in a fic, and that was hard. My brain still hasn't recovered.

Ah, I see. That does put it in a different light.

owch, sorry to hear that; anything I can do to help.
(though English also fails at relatioships - ie the classic "Joe told Bill that his wife loved him.")

>in a different light.
doing it, not to right a wrong, but because they're thorough.

the outcome is better for those who would've gotten the short end of the stick otherwise...but because they weren't saved deliberately, is that what you mean? *trying to make sure I understand*

Oh, it was just the confusion of time travel and implausibility of what I did, and when I think about it, it still makes my head ache a bit.

Yeah, I didn't quite get it as they were just doing it to destroy the government. Is it any better to have survived Hitler's death camps only to be hunted by the Skitters? Either outcome is almost certain death, right?
