I heard that LJ may be/may have switched off IP logging...no idea how widespread it is/would be.

I don't know if they've turned it off completely. What happened was that they'd modified IP logging so that it also showed the town and country of the IP, which created an uproar. They removed the modifation soon afterward.

Yet another example of LJ not talking to its membership first. *shrugs*
