...rather, I suspect the wager was "will Dean do anything that, later, he would be willing to undo?"
and when something is powerful enough for even Death Himself to get involved, that's surely a warning that souls are potentially even more dangerous than even the angelic weapons on the black market.
speaking of which, I have a feeling that when he returns to collect, Sam will say "but I didn't kill Bobby."
to which, the reply will be "I held up my end of it. Not my fault if you couldn't carry through."
a decent episode. nice foreshadowing and use of past elements.
