another 'Red Dawn' movie...where are all the "Canada Invades!" films?

.
(I'm going to need a "FAIL!" icon if this keeps up)

From what I've heard, it's official: there is going to be a re-make of Red Dawn, that Cold War movie that pitted Russian paratroopers against American highschoolers.

This time, though, the bad guys are going to be from China. (which, if I heard right, were our friends in the original Red Dawn)

The original cost $4 million dollars to make; this one will be at least $72 million.

Basically, the set-up is going to be along these lines: America redoubles our military support in and for Taiwan against China, scares Russia by bringing one of the Soviet nations (Georgia or Armenia) into NATO, and the US President declares that the USA is not the only one at fault for the state of mess the world is in.

...and then China invades the Pacific Northwest of America.

and one conversation I encountered, went like this:
the set-up to this was whether any movie where one or both sides are predominately a single ethnic group are racist by default

__Are WWII movies about the Pacific Theater racist now?__
& the reply:
_WW2 pacific actually happened. While films on such a subject will inevitably run into similar accusations, they're backed up by a historical event. This film has none.

_You know it;s racist, just as a million screaming rightwingers would decry a Chinese film about an American invasion_

One speculation I heard, was that in 20 years from now, the next Red Dawn remake will have the British as the bad guys.

china, movie, america, fail, movies
