both of these are based on what I saw on the Steampunk episode of the series Make:
1. It was said that Steampunk is an idealized Victorian era*, the way things should have been.
Though, given how many groups of people got the short end of the stick in the Victorian era, how popular is it?
* = this shocked me. the first bunch of times I ever heard of steampunk, it was in the context of China developing the Industrial Revolution before Europe had an Enlightenment.
2. Among other recent inventions, one man has made a steam-powered prosthetic arm that is four times stronger than regular prosthetics & lasts longer than them. It is powered by hydrogen peroxide.
Now, I heard that, and I thought "isn't that the stuff coating the surface of Mars? hm."
