How did I not see this before? #9748i

Was watching Terminator: Salvation again this week after a lonnnng dry spell (I last saw it in theaters)...and I realized something that didn't occur to me when I saw Moon Bloodgood on the big screen*...
On most members of the Resistance, there's a red band of fabric around one of the arms. This denotes having destroyed Machines in use by SkyNet.

Blair Williams (portrayed by Moon Bloodgood) has no fabric like that...but she has a red band around her eyes. (kinda like Zorro)

I saw that in the theaters, but I didn't think it had a deeper meaning (some folks get tattoos for various reasons, including group unity; same thing here, maybe)...

...but on re-watch this week, it hits me: she didn't want something that could tangle on part of her plane or on anything else...didn't want something that could be grabbed by a human or by a Machine.

...And she wanted the fact of her kills to never be hidden.

hence, her face.

am I over-thinking this?

* = strangely, the red band wasn't noticed (at least by my eyes) when I watched Terminator Salvation: The Machinima Series.... starring her voice as Blair Williams.
