because when I thought "Who would you want to win the Presidential race - Richard Nixon or Al Capone?", all I could think was "well, we'd finally have our first Italian-American in the White House."
and in real life, Capone did do some good things - open soup kitchens, help little old ladies...if there was a way of getting attention, he usually did it.
