I need a name for a federal investigative arm of a government - in our history - doesn't exist. (so don't say "FBI" please)

well, it's for a investigative unit in a timeline where the US doesn't reach from the Atlantic to the Pacific...so I'm using Spanish to give names to the arms of government of the Pacific's independent nation.
