There was a murder at a local school. Bobby and Tidwell worked with Crews on the case, since Dani was unavailable for very good reasons.
Dani came in the next day and - figuratively speaking - dived into the forms that had to be filled out. “Don’t wanna talk about it.”
“How was the dentist?” Crews asked at his desk with his forms.
“Didn’t I just say I don’t want to talk about it?” I would’ve rather been on-duty, but that wasn’t an option.
“Okay. During the investigation, Bobby and I noticed that Miss Torres really looks like you, Reese,” Crews said.
Not looking up from her paperwork, Dani said, “And the math teacher, Mr. Link, looks like you.” Link’s picture was on the page Dani was skimming over right now.
“I met him briefly. We’re a little similar. But you and -”
Dani looked up and her eyes bored lasers into his. “Crews. Enough. Okay? Nobody looks like me.” It’s impossible for them to - I’m Irish and Persian. “It is not po-” stopping when Miss Torres arrived. Crap.
