Review: New Amsterdam tonight: "Reclassified"

review:

* so....was that first scene another dream sequence?

* and the look on Eva's face when she remarks on the two years.

* and, about friends, "It gives me hope."
:clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:

* when they showed the shooting....maybe I've seen too much Life, but my first thought was "Eddie Marquez!" (translation: the partner's father)

* poor Eva....can't even sit shotgun. (so why can't she drive?)

* Eva's having so much fun standing there with all the stuffed animals.

* cars are harder to root for...and a lot more dangerous. particularly if they go nuts.

* Mikhail gets the monkey?

* "what's next?" "mah jong" :D

* wow...a mobster who doesn't threaten family. :thumbsup:

* "John's not used to using real china" I thought Amsterdam would say "I'm out of practice."

* "stay out of Brooklyn"
now, was that a case of using someone else's name to draw attention away from teh source, or was that honest?

* now….here’s a thought - how did they know he’d be going to Dillane’s place on that particular night?

* just fine, eh? we'llllll see.

* “stay safe” doesn’t always mean the same thing for you as it may for a 400-year-old immortal.

* “you are a dead man!” Amsterdam’s probably thinking “promises, promises” ;)

* why didn't he bring you along, Eva? because this way you are notable in your absence, and - hopefully - don't get dragged into it.

* Eva is so wonderful and helpful and... *sniffle*

* "Don't think of me as a woman." "That will be hard. I can smell your perfume."
did Eva back up a bit there?

* "I'm not scared." "Too bad." :clap:

* "Even if you are bulletproof, you still need a partner." yes!

* "I remember when there was no CSU" I closed my eyes, said "of course you do", opened my eyes, and Eva's saying the exact same thing.

* not sure which argument convinced him more - the "he's your partner" or the "Didi will
".

* and he walks away, sadness and a bit of (confusion?) on his face.

* as he's walking away, Eva's face... lovely.

* "I'll never see this again" and Amsterdam's too polite to say "even if you survive, you probably won't"

* nice bit of continuity, having Amsterdam's cheek still bruised.

* ah, and an additional reason for the final ride...so he can't be revived.

* I see this as simple revenge....if it was the guy's brother behind it, he wouldn't have sent his only brother to do the shooting.

* wait a ....so, all he had to do, all this time, was dream/imagine coming clean to her, and dream/imagine she accepts him?

* Eva's the first one he sees when he opens his eyes.

* when Amsterdam did that last blink, did his eyes change colour?

ps:
even if Amsterdam is mortal now, he's still got all the memories and experiences he's picked up over the course of his elongate lifespan.

as to the leukemia...cancer is, at its simplest, uncontrolled cellular growth. I think someone else here said that infections can cause cancer.
{that and "leukemia" might just be scriptwriters shorthand, something they know that all the viewers are familiar with}
