1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Put iTunes or equivalent media player on random.
3. For each song that plays, write something related to the theme you picked inspired by the song. You have only the time frame of the song: no planning beforehand: you start when it starts, and no lingering afterward; once the song is over, you stop writing. (No fair skipping songs either; you have to take what comes by chance!)
4. Do 10 of these, then post.
Pairing: Shihan, Kangteuk, Yehwook, and others by themselves and together

It’s one of those songs you expect to play in the background in bars like this. Music that floats gently down with no external speakers but fits in amidst the dim candlelight and their mute reflections in the hanging chandeliers.
It’s where you expect to meet someone like her, someone with soft hair, glossy in the mute lightening and wearing a dress made of white flowing materials that whispers pass you as she walks. Someone who wears a white headband in her hair in anticipation for a veil.
You, yourself wear a suit that was just pressed that morning. ‘You look wonderful’ your mom sighs with her hands clasped over her heart.
But she’s not there. And this song doesn’t play.
So you in your just pressed suit find yourself at the bar, drawn irrevocably by the bartender whose smile shines brighter than the clinking glass besides you.
‘Hankyung’ is the name on your lips as your shared kiss burns like an inferno down your body.
2. Love me once again -Priscilla Chan Kangteuk
The spotlight shines upon you, white, white and incandescent.
And even though you’re surrounded by a sea of moving fans from all sides, from all angles, your voice just echoes back to you, strangely, so so strangely from the speakers and it feels that there is just the dimness and you.
It’s weird, you think, performing this song, this foreign song by yourself. But you find that the climax of the song is the same, no matter what language it is sung in and you prep yourself for the words that arise with each crescendo of the background orchestra.
The crowd chants your old nickname back at you, ‘Angel. Angel. Angel’ they say and with tears in your eyes you sing hopelessly “Love me once again”.
The fans scream.
3. Damn Girl (Ft. Will.i.am) - Justin Timberlake Yehwook
The beat is pounding, thunderous in the flashing lights of the club and Justin’s voice acts like the whispered damning voice of your conscience.
Vaguely in the back of your mind, you wonder when it was that you got on a first name basis of familiarity with a foreign singer you know nothing about.
But forget it. Tonight is not about Justin.
It’s about the way Ryeowook looks tonight.
Maybe he doesn’t see you as you watch him behind hooded eyes, sipping your highly alcoholic spiced drink.
You find yourself mouthing along to Justin’s falsetto and drawn out ‘Damnnnnnnn, you’re so fine’
You saddle up behind him, and ignoring his shock of surprise tell him ‘There’s just something about the way you do the things you do’
He muffles his laughter against your shirt. Maybe he’s laughing at your pretty tolerable English but he doesn’t seem to mind at all when you show him the repeated motions that go with ‘uh uh uh uh.’
4. By your side - Sade Kangteuk
He wants to give up.
You can see it in the dropping set of his shoulders, the sighs he heaves when he thinks nobody is listening and the listless way he flips his phone on and off.
You don’t know what it is he wants to give up.
This job? This performance? This group? You? You with him? Himself?
He says not a word, but his helplessness can be found in the imprint of his practiced smile.
So you do the only thing you can do.
You cross the stage in long strides, and when he looks up in mild surprise, opening his mouth to form words of concern, ever ready to play the role of the overly concerned leader, you grab him and hold him, just hold him, tight in your arms.
And finally, he just finally just breathes.
5. Can or can’t - Jason & Lara Heechul/Donghae
It starts at sea.
No words are ever used, just the heat of hedonism as you go in and out.
He complicates things by asking questions, fasted paced questions without ever stopping to breathe.
Just questions, questions, questions: where are we, what are we, who are we?
It rolls over you like waves lapping at the beach.
Why, where, what, all questions set in a never ending cycle, his words tumbling over themselves in a rush to get out.
You let him ask.
And when he pauses for another deep intake of breathe before he starts again, you simply say, ‘Either you can, or can’t.’
He quiets, slow downs, takes another deep breath in and says, “Can”.
6. Belief - S.H.E Shihan
They were lovers when it was forbidden to be.
They hid in the drapes of the emperor’s power, loving so desperately, so longingly, and in a state of enraptured consumption.
They loved without limit, without consequences, without fear.
That is, until they were caught.
An embrace impossible to do so now as they headed for execution.
He, the youngest prince in a family of royals known for their unwavering principles and strict hierarchy of position and power.
The other, captain of the royal guard sworn to protect those who graced the halls of the imperial palace.
‘An abomination’ the people cried in the streets, but when their dead bodies were cut down from the still swinging noose, and their fingers were still linked together, who was left not to believe?
7. Santa Baby - Marilyn Monroe Kangteuk
It was a drunken bet gone horribly, horribly wrong.
Even Kangin could tell this as he sat in the only seat in the front row while trying not to watch and watch at the same time.
Damn Heechul for putting him up to this, Kangin muttered through clenched teeth. Like he really needed to prove that he didn’t think of Leader-nim in that way, or any other way really. And if he could make some easy money out of this, he could sit through this performance with no problem at all. Really, he could.
While these thoughts circled ‘round and ‘round in Kangin’s head, Eeteuk, meanwhile being the good band umma he was, had already rushed his brood on stage in flaming hot red short shorts with dense fur trimming and stood bare chested with green suspenders left to hold up the shreds of his dignity, started the commencement of the number.
Kangin looked away with eyes openly shut when Eeteuk bent over just so that anyone could see into the white valleys of his inner thighs and then, promptly collapsed.
‘See, told you he wouldn’t last’ Heechul commented as Shindong grudgingly handed over the money and Eetuek stomped off stage to put a shirt on.
8. Ye Xu You Yi Tian - JS
It was hard.
It was hard letting go, Eetuek, no, no- he was just Jungsu now, he realized.
These were his boys, if not by birth and blood, then certainly by tears and heartache.
It was hard watching them go, letting them go and being let go as well.
Jungsu sighs.
‘Maybe one day’ he says softly to the empty room, and returns to packing.
9. Caribbean 16 - Caribbean SA Donghae, Eunhyuk
Stop.
Go.
Stop.
Go.
Stop.
Go.
The people whirl past him in colors, bright, bright, bright colors.
Stop.
Go.
Stop.
Go.
Stop.
Who celebrates when it rains?
In this public celebration, nobody seems to mind.
‘What are you doing Hae?’ Eunhyuk asks as he crouches down next to Donghae.
Donghae looks up. ‘Seeing ice cream melt’
‘In the rain?’ Eunhyuk asks.
‘Yup’ Donghae answers smiling, lifting his hand as he momentarily stopped the flow of melting ice cream in the rain.
10. Ask Again - Richie Ren Eeteuk, Kyuhyun
The wind whips past you as you speed down the highway.
‘Don’t be stupid Leeteuk’ management tells you, making sure to pronounce all the solid characters in your name.
‘You can’t buy a motorcycle. It doesn’t fit in your image. Maybe for someone like Kyunhyun as part his his image makeover…’
Management toys with the idea but you stopped listening a while ago.
When the meeting is over, you lean over and kiss each of your dongsaengs goodbye with a kiss to the forehead despite the angry sputtering that erupts out of Heechul and the questioning look from Sungmin, and get yourself the latest bike which goes 0-70 faster than you can say all the X’s and random numbers of the bike’s model.
You speed off into the sunset, maybe never to be seen from, maybe never to be heard from again.
And around midnight the next day, you come back with wind tousled hair and a leather jacket and helmet in Kyuhyun’s size.
