Because I believe that everyone can use more friends, here are people I talk to on a semi/regular basis and why you should be friends with them too!
Putting aside their contributions to fandom (which for the record includes comms, exchanges, manifestos and of course reams upon reams of fics) they're great people that you should be friends with too!
wings_strength9 is one of those people who has boatloads and boatlads of faith in/for you. Even when you think you're facing the impossible, she honestly and truly believes you can do it. She is that friend that believes in you even when you don't believe in yourself. She's also really dedicated. Once she commits herself to something, she really commits herself to it and places it high up on her list of priorities. At the same time though, she really hates to step on people's toes which makes you want to squish her (in a loving sort of way) because for all the things she does and helps with, she's not stepping on ANYBODIES toes.
todefinebeauty is one of the most laid back people I know. She takes everything in stride and is generally up for anything for anything. (Or barring that can usually be talked into almost anything.) I think a lot of that has to do with her easy going nature in life. She also has such a keen eye for beautiful things and clearly knows a lot about style and fashion. There are days when I stalk visit her tumblr and really wish she would be my stylist for I know anything she'd pick would be fantastic. She is one of those people who you'd hold hands with and skip down lanes together singing la-la-la's with very little care what anyone else thinks.
pregnantcigar is someone who knows everyone. Rather than it being a intimation factor however, I think it speaks to the type of person she is. She's knowledgeable in various fields and is one of those people that can hold a conversation with practically anyone. (Hence why her field of friends is so varied) She never touts in your face how sharp her smarty pants are (though I personally believe them to be so sharp you can ski in a straight line off them) but is someone who I picture in the middle of a pivoting discussion with you about socks and world politics, would flails over that cute thing that just walked by.
catskilt is genuinely, a nice person. It's not a superfluousness or vague description though, because she really is a nice person. She's one of those people who when they ask how you're doing or how you've been is actually interested to know how you're doing and how you've been. It shouldn't come as a surprise either that her consideration is also linked with her niceness. She sometimes thinks of others well before she even thinks about herself. She is one of those people who when she says she'll do something, she gets it done and you never have to worry about it.
wobaozhewo is one of those people, that no matter how crazy you think you are, it doesn't matter because she'll know exactly what you're talking about/referring to and crazy it up with you. In the middle of a heated debate, she'll try to find the common ground and is the objective voice you need when things start to get insane. She has what seems to be limitless resources and if its within her capacity, she'll help you as best she can even to the extent of forgoing sleep and/or other basic needs. She feels a deep sense of responsibility to fulfill whatever task you ask of her. Lest you forget the crazies though, when you want to paint the town red, she would have already have a squirt gun of paint all ready for you.
