SIGNS: 5.9 Earthquake Rocks Washington Area, Felt on East Coast

Aug 23, 2011 12:43

I got irritated this morning because Sian born 7/15 this morning on Second Life asked me "what the numbers say are the percentage or the probability are that I'll get a blow job today."

I told her it doesn't work that way. The last time I had a powerful orgasm tied to numbers there was an earthquake in Los Angeles where I was.

I had went to go take a nap. So I was asleep when the Earthquake hit. They said it was centered around Louisa, VA. That would be Virgin-IA or Virgin.

My stepdad called my mom this morning to tell her that there was an Electrical Problem at the Casino. So he went to the Point instead.

I noticed on Facebook that Crystal M. was in the shower in Baltimore, MD when she said her walls startd shaking.

The Cleveland Indians playing the Seattle Mariners in Cleveland, OH felt the earthquake that lasted for 30 seconds.

Regarding the Colorado Earthquake, they interviewed Garry Ringo, owner of Ringo's Super Trading Post in Segundo, Colorado. Last night, I was roleplaying a 3some with Krystal and Syl***** who were dressed up as Furries. They look like a cross between a Leopard, Canine, and a Koala.

Syl***** had kind of a canine or dog snout when she was giving me a blow job. I gave Rebecca a copy of the roleplay because Rebecca asked. Rebecca has been curious about furry sex. So I let her keep a copy. (Though I made sure that the dialogue on notecard was no transfer so she couldn't pass it on to anyone else.)

So it's kind of funny seeing how my dog is named Ringo, Garry Ringo was interviewed regarding the Colorado Earthquake, Syl***** like a dog was giving me a "doggy blow job," and Sian asked me this morning what the changes are of me getting a blow job where I said the last time I had a major orgasm it resulted in an Earthquake.

The other thing about Sylene on Second Life giving me a doggy blow job is that her rez date is 8/16 like music singer Madonna. So that would be the Virgin Tag aligning with the earthquake in VIRGIN-ia.

I think the reason why it was in Louisa, Virginia is because if the top northeastern part of the United States is shaped like an erect penis, that "canine lockjaw" of Sy***** on the cock where I mentioned about her lower canines and her doggy tongue sliding out to lick my balls would be around the "base of the cock."

The location of Louisa, Virginia is near the base of the shaft of a penis. So if it's a blowjob, the tongue sliding out would be licking Florida as the testicles.

That's where Krystal is physicall located as we speak because of a work trip even though she lives in Arizona. If you take Arizona that became a State on 2/14 and add it to CO as 3/15 where the other Earthquake was, you get 5/29 for my birthday.

If you say LOU is A, (Virgin)IA, that's LOU is A/IA with Virgin inside.

A/IA would be 1/29 if IA is Iowa as the 29th State.

Stephen Colbert, yesterday, was saying how ABC5 in Iowa wouldn't air his "Rick Parry" Ad and even joked that Katie Eastman who cracked Garage-Sale-Gate should go on a fact-finding mission on what's really going on there.

Stephen Colbert is naturally my favorite because he's born 5/13 like Adult Star Sunny Leone and when the Virgin Mother was seen in 1917.

Stephen Colbert Turns Katie Eastman, a 22-year-Old “Intrepid Cub Reporter” in Iowa, into a National Celebrity

Katie Eastman, a 22-year-old TV reporter from Des Moines, Iowa, has become a national celebrity thanks to Stephen Colbert.

Eastman's employer, WOI-ABC 5, refused to air an advertisement from Colbert's political action committee. The ad urged Iowa voters to cast their ballots for "Rick Parry," deliberately misspelled. Colbert, or at least his televised persona, then mocked the TV station and its "intrepid cub reporter" Katie Eastman, whose stories include dog-park openings and garage sales.

Colbert said he thought Eastman would be the ideal candidate to investigate why the station did not air his ad. "Katie blew the lid off Garage-Sale-Gate!" he said. "Clearly, Katie, you're the only one I can trust. Call me."

In an interview with NPR, Eastman said she woke up one morning a couple of weeks ago to a flood of voicemail, text messages and tweets. She found the video clip online from Colbert's Comedy Central show. "I started screaming, and just, like, pacing the kitchen floor," Eastman said. "Like, 'That just did not just happen! No! That was my face!'"

Web searches for Eastman surged over 200% after Colbert mentioned her on his show. On Eastman's Facebook page, a fan urged her to run as vice president on the "Rick Parry" ticket.

Another Facebook user gave her a pep-talk: "We all know you cover more than puppies, this is good for your career I am sure. Keep it up Katie, maybe I'll see you on a national news program someday. Reporting, not being reported about."

You can watch more of Colbert's Eastman pitch in the videos below, but beware a little saucy language.

Largest Colorado Quake Since 1967 Shakes Homes

By STEVEN K. PAULSON 08/23/11 12:15 PM ET

DENVER -- The strongest earthquake to strike Colorado in more than 40 years shook awake hundreds of people, toppled groceries off shelves and caused minor damage to homes in the southern part of the state and in northern New Mexico. No injuries were reported as aftershocks continued Tuesday.

"Here we go again, there's another one starting. We got to get out of here," said Garry Ringo, owner of Ringo's Super Trading Post in the small town of Segundo, Colo., as bottles on shelves rattled in the background during an interview with The Associated Press.

Ringo estimated he lost thousands of dollars' worth of liquor and soda.

The magnitude 5.3 quake hit at 11:46 p.m. MDT Monday about nine miles southwest of Trinidad, or 180 miles south of Denver, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's National Earthquake Information Center in Golden. It had an estimated depth of 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) and was felt in a relatively large area of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.

Las Animas County Sheriff Jim Casias said Colorado authorities were assessing damage and so far had reported a porch collapse and a partially collapsed roof. No injuries had been reported, he said.

"As I had one lady tell me, `Sheriff, maybe the world's coming to an end.' All I mentioned to her is that someday it will," Casias said.

Dozens of residents in Trinidad, a town of 9,000 people, and in northern New Mexico called the USGS to report the shaking. Others called from Colorado Springs, Colo., about 130 miles north of the epicenter, said geophysicist Shengzao Chen.

Minor aftershocks continued Tuesday in the relatively sparsely populated area that the USGS says is not known for major quakes or active faults. Theresa James, manager of Ringo's Super Trading Post, said a small swarm lasting three days hit the area last summer. Segundo is a former coal mining town of about 100 people.

USGS geophysicist Jessica Sigala said Monday's earthquake damaged chimneys, cracked walls and knocked items off shelves.

Minor rockslides were reported on Colorado Highway 12 and Interstate 25, but both highways remained open, a Las Animas County Sheriff's Office dispatcher said Tuesday.

The dispatcher, who would only give her first name as Kristina, said she was working when the earthquake hit near midnight.

"Everything was shaking, but we had no power loss," she said.

"I thought maybe a car had hit my house," said 70-year-old Trinidad resident Nadine Baca. "Then I called my son and he said it was the third (quake) today."

Cathy Gutierrez of Raton, N.M., about 20 miles south of Trinidad, told The Associated Press Tuesday that she felt two earthquakes, one around 5:30 p.m. Monday and the big earthquake just before midnight.

"My bed shook with all my pictures. It just went back and forth. I thought someone hit my house. I ran outside. We've had some before (earthquakes), but never this strong," Gutierrez said. "It was a very scary feeling."

Ron Thompson, mine manager with New Elk Mine about 30 miles west of Trinidad, said coal miners 300 to 800 feet underground didn't feel anything but crews above ground and at the company office in Trinidad, where he was at the time, did.

"Not real exciting, but it got your attention," he said of the shallow quake.

The quake was the largest in Colorado since a magnitude-5.3 temblor was recorded in Denver's northern suburbs in 1967, said Paul Earle of the USGS.

Sigala said the area occasionally has swarms of earthquakes, some lasting days or weeks, but Monday's temblor was unusual.

"A 5.3 is big for Colorado," she said.

About a dozen smaller temblors were recorded in the area in August and September 2001, Sigala said.

She said some people blamed that swarm on oil drilling in the area but that later studies proved those fears unfounded.

Colorado is no stranger to earthquakes, but most are small and go unnoticed.

According to the USGS, an earthquake in 1882 was the first to cause damage in Denver and is believed to be the largest recorded in the state.

That quake was believed to be centered in the Front Range near what is now Rocky Mountain National Park. Its magnitude was estimated to be about 6.6 on the Richter scale. It was felt as far away as Salina, Kansas, and Salt Lake City.

Earthquake Felt During Indians-Mariners Game

By TOM WITHERS 08/23/11 02:30 PM ET

CLEVELAND -- Shock waves from an earthquake on the East Coast made the press box sway slightly and sent some fans toward the exits during the first game of a doubleheader between the Indians and Seattle Mariners.

As the Mariners were batting in the fourth inning Tuesday, the press box high above home plate and the third-base line moved left and right and continued for nearly 30 seconds. Fans sitting in the upper deck at Progressive Field noticed the unusual movement, and weren't sure what was happening.

"It went on for at least a minute," said Betsy Hammond, who was attending the game with her husband, Tim, and their three children. "We were looking around and someone stood up and yelled, 'Is that an earthquake?' Then someone who works here came over and said they heard it on the radio."

Play was not interrupted on the field. The Indians reported no structural damage to the 43,000-seat ballpark.

The Hammonds were celebrating their son Liam's 10-year-old birthday with his first game - one he'll never forget.

"My first thought was, 'That's weird, I can't move this seat,'" Tim Hammond said. "I thought it was the wind. I know the stadium is made to move, but I didn't know what was moving it. I was thinking maybe they blew something up on that movie set. A lot of people got up and were like 'We're out of here.'"

Filming for "The Avengers" is taking place on East 9th Street near the ballpark.

The 5.8 magnitude earthquake centered northwest of Richmond, Va., shook much of Washington and was felt as far north as Rhode Island and New York City.

"The odd thing was that it went on for a long time," Betsy Hammond said. "Then, the longer it went on, the more I wondered what was happening."

Did You Feel That? Cell Networks Congested as East Coast Reaches for Its Pockets to Make Calls

Jack Gillum, Associated Press, On Tuesday August 23, 2011, 3:04 pm

The earthquake that shook the East Coast is also causing connection problems for cell phone customers.

Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint say their networks were congested as the quake sent people scrambling for the phones.

"There were tremors and everyone decided to call and say, `Did you feel it?' " Verizon Wireless spokesman Tom Pica said. "It's a congestion situation."

The congestion was reminiscent, on a much smaller scale, to the frenzy that clogged cellular networks after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. To solve that program, police and rescue workers have priority phones that can get through even when there's a flurry of calls.

Pica said there was no damage to the company's equipment. He said the crush of phone calls made it hard for some customers to get through for about 20 minutes after the quake but he said the congestion appeared to be clearing after that. Sprint said some customers may be experiencing delays.

5.9 Earthquake Rocks Washington Area, Felt on East Coast
By BOB LEWIS - Associated Press | AP - 1 hr 6 mins ago...

MINERAL, Va. (AP) - A 5.9 magnitude earthquake centered in Virginia forced evacuations of all the memorials and monuments on the National Mall in Washington and rattled nerves from South Carolina to Martha's Vineyard, the Massachusetts island where President Barack Obama is vacationing.

A District of Columbia fire department spokesman said there were numerous injuries, no reports of serious injuries or deaths.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was half a mile deep and centered near Louisa, Va., about 40 miles northwest of Richmond. Shaking was felt at the White House and all over the East Coast, as far south as Charleston, S.C. Parts of the Pentagon, White House and Capitol were evacuated.

Two nuclear reactors at the North Anna Power Station in the same county as the epicenter were automatically taken off line by safety systems around the time of the earthquake, said Roger Hannah, a spokesman for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

The Dominion-operated power plant is being run off of four emergency diesel generators, which are supplying power for critical safety equipment. Hannah said the agency was not immediately aware of any damage at nuclear power plants in the Southeast.

Obama and many of the nation's leaders were out of town on August vacation when the quake struck at 1:51 p.m. EDT. The shaking was felt on the Martha's Vineyard golf course as Obama was just starting a round.

Office workers gather on the sidewalk in downtown Washington, Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, …

..At the Pentagon in northern Virginia, a low rumbling built and built to the point that the building was shaking. People ran into the corridors of the government's biggest building and as the shaking continued there were shouts of "Evacuate! Evacuate!"

The U.S. Park Service evacuated and closed all National Mall monuments and memorials. At Reagan National Airport outside Washington, ceiling tiles fell during a few seconds of shaking. Authorities announced it was an earthquake and all flights were put on hold.

Amtrak said its trains along the Northeast Corridor between Baltimore and Washington were operating at reduced speeds and crews were inspecting stations and railroad infrastructure before returning to normal.

In New York, the 26-story federal courthouse in lower Manhattan began swaying and hundreds of people were seen leaving the building. Court officers weren't letting people back in.

More than 12 million people live close enough to the quake's epicenter to feel shaking, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The agency said this quake was in the yellow alert category for economic damage, meaning there was potential for local damage but it would add up to far less than 1 percent of the country's gross domestic product.

East Coast earthquakes are far less common than in the West, but they tend to be felt over a broad area. That's because the crust is not as mangled and fractured, allowing seismic waves to travel without interruption.

"The waves are able to reverberate and travel pretty happily out for miles," said U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Susan Hough.

The Virginia quake came a day after an earthquake in Colorado toppled groceries off shelves and caused minor damage to homes in the southern part of the state and in northern New Mexico. No injuries were reported as aftershocks continued Tuesday.

In Charleston, W.Va., hundreds of workers left the state Capitol building and employees at other downtown office buildings were asked to leave temporarily.

"The whole building shook," said Jennifer Bundy, a spokeswoman for the state Supreme Court. "You could feel two different shakes. Everybody just kind of came out on their own."

In Ohio, where office buildings swayed in Columbus and Cincinnati and the press box at the Cleveland Indians' Progressive Field shook. At least one building near the Statehouse was evacuated in downtown Columbus.

In downtown Baltimore, the quake sent office workers into the streets, where lamp posts swayed slightly as they called family and friends to check in.

Social media site Twitter lit up with reports of the earthquake from people using the site up and down the U.S. eastern seaboard.

"People pouring out of buildings and onto the sidewalks and Into Farragut Park in downtown DC...," tweeted Republican strategist Kevin Madden.

John Gurlach, air traffic controller at the Morgantown Municipal Airport was in a 40-foot-tall tower when the earth trembled.

"There were two of us looking at each other saying, 'What's that?'" he said, even as a commuter plane was landing. "It was noticeably shaking. It felt like a B-52 unloading."

Immediately, the phone rang from the nearest airport in Clarksburg, and a computer began spitting out green strips of paper - alerts from other airports in New York and Washington issuing ground stops "due to earthquake."
