QUESTION:

Explain the following quotation.?
An immoral government is matched by a demoralized people; an administration without conscience, by greedy and servile townsmen and outlaws and robbers in the mountain. The slave is the image of his master; the country, of its government.

REPLY:

An immoral government has no conscience and fails to uphold its policies in regards to ethics and fairness, which leads to oppression. That oppression will frustrate and demoralize the people who are governed.

The townsmen, outlaws, and robbers are examples of people who can be within that immoral government. For example, in small pockets of the United States, there are laws that aren't upheld an where corruption resides.

There were a couple episodes of "Dallas" where Larry Hagman's character J. R. Ewing was caught in some hick town far away from civilization. J. R. Ewing was a big and powerful oil tycooon that people feared or knew was menacing.

However, in that small town, he had no power. He was trying to get back to civilization where he would be recognized. Where he was trapped would be an example of where the governing laws can be perverted. The farmstead he was trapped in was run by corrupt farmers making sure he couldn't escape.

The Slave being the image of the Master, Country, and Government refers to those who are being oppressed. However, you choose to mold people that are under a certain rule are follow the dictates of the Master, Country, and Government.

If the Government, Master, and Country is corrupt, the people who are subservient will be a reflection of those who control them.

You see the same type of training in dogs. Highly trained dogs used for Security or where they're vicious is a reflection of whomever their Master was that conditioned them. If they're vicious attack dogs, it was because they were molded by their Masters to behave as such.

In the society we live in, a lot of emphasis is placed on money. People don't believe money should determine self-worth, but because people value it and they guard it, it becomes an influence in people's behavior. People try to gather lots of money. People will steal for money. People will kill for large sums of money. Everyone has a price.

In Middle Eastern Countries, women are supposed to keep their faces and bodies covered. They're not allowed to show their faces the same way American women do. The society those women are raised in must abide by the rules of that government and its people.

Women in the United States may find it appalling that they aren't allowed to show their bodies and might deem those Middle Eastern Countries as impressing a Dress Code a form of slavery.

When people don't have any conscience, that's how you have Machiavellian tendencies. You become unscrupulous. If you have no pity or remorse for the misfortunes of others, you'll make demands on people and have extremely high expectations that may be unrealistic.

Humans have their limits and it's possible to drive them into the ground. If the person above them doesn't care and there's no one to stand up to them, such callous behavior and mistreatment of individuals will continue to go unchallenged.

When you have enough people like that in a society, they will infiltrate the various levels of government affecting the way the government is managed and how it treats its people.

If you're from the United States and you cross the Mexican Border, there's a lot of corruption in the Government and in the Law Enforcement. If you're an American and you're not careful and lose your passport, you'll be in big trouble.

Other South American Countries have very loose governments where there's corruption and it's not about what is moral or right, but who has the influence or power. You have to know the right people and to be able to go through the correct channels.

Talking about humanitarian ideals, morals, and ethics is irrelevant in those countries where Drug Cartels and corrupt individuals have all the power.

That's how you get a lot of ungrateful people here in the United States that point fingers at the U.S. Government. However, they don't realize that things are so much worse in other countries where people don't get to enjoy the Freedoms U.S. Citizens often take for granted.
