The roses are far more likely to have made you ill than the chocolate. You shouldn't eat anything that was not meant to be eaten, especially decorative plants. They are often contaminated with agricultural chemicals.

Agricultural chemicals. Chemical substances used for agricultural purposes. Primarily pesticides, but also chemical fertilizers and growth agents. Often toxic.
