Abbu's dead: Voidness...carcass..and THE DUDE in Surma

May 28, 2006 20:23

Things happened kinda fast this week (or should I say last week).... lets see...

Abbu died due to sudden and severe cardiac arrest.

Exam in BUET was cancelled

I wonder what kind of omen is working behind the distant lands...enchanting and playing with our everyday life, like wax-figures...when it gets fed up with a certain action figure, it melts the whole damn thing down. Chez, abbu looked so peaceful when I laid him down on his grave...it was a rainy day, there was mud and sour tears, yet my hands were not shaking at all.. maybe my subconscious knew that this was the time abbu was in a totally relaxed mood, no worry about his diabetes, blood sugar, corruption all around and most certainly no rants about the mistake he made when he returned to BD in 1971.

Its customary to put "Surma"(which is kinda like black eyeliner, but with religious metaphors I guess) under the eyelids of a departed dude, and abbu too was looking rather awkward under the brunt of the surma, like those particles were sucking his soul inside like a perfect black body would in terms of physics.... I encountered several arranged customary parties like "kulkhani" right after the remorse of his death had started to fade a bit. Although there's no place for such "Slender" occasions to happen in the "Real Islam", but the islam that persist in bd has morphed....fused with the customs of many other religions and in term has adopted many of their distinct traits... I'm fine with that, although my religion tells me to stay as simple with the death of a being as possible, for it was the lord's "thang" that he is taking back after a long vacation. Anyway, I guess life has got to go on...or as R.P Feynman puts it:

"Know how to solve every problem that has ever been solved." (Taken from his chalkboard after his death.)

Abbu died a peaceful death...with little or no pain at all...it was sudden, was on the 20-th at 10:45am....he was 66yrs old...his accomplishments included being an alumni of Cornell, Ithaca, NY (Probably under kappa-meu-psi fraternity) and Texas A & M univ, being an Avid learner of many things (which I must say, was often a subject of disturbance to our regular "bookish" reading traits), a well respected professor of Mechanical Engineering and also a computer-nut (a guy who's retired shouldn't really spend time and brain cells with Fortran 77, but he did so).... pray for his departed soul...for the dude is gone... for "kullu nafsin zaikatul maut" is a universal constant like R=8.316 Joule/mol-kelvin.... Rest in solitude "Abbu"

and PS: Also pray for my mom if you can, cuz she has breast cancer and the spread has not been successfully blocked yet. Recently she was diagnosed with yet another lever metastasis and is undergoing oral chemotherapy. I just hope she recovers....or stay recovered as long as I'm staying in this wretched world...
