I had literally forgotten the days when a full 24 hours of my life was spent without a power shortage. Until now that is, heh heh.. For the last 2-3 days we've had no load-shedding. So what turned the so called viciously biased power stations of old Dhaka to become so philanthropic all of a sudden? I'll tell you what, its plain old "Bash in the ( Read more... )

Welll..guess not. There are plenty of 'other' ways a buet student can earn some extra dough these days.

So, what is up with your flickr gallery? I can see that you've recently uploaded the picture of a very famous former Bangladeshi army junta leader on 2tk stamps X-D Is it in celebration of Gen Sonthi taking over thai govt? I though the thai coup was pretty cool; yellow ribbons, the kings backing, loads of militia men patrolling the streets with assault rifles..all looked promising. Since bangladesh has a worse present when it comes to corruption, perhaps we are overdue for an army coup?

Nah, all are equal when your bloodline contains strains native to places in between teknaf and tetulia ^_^

I got the news of this GNU-related interview on my rss reader (I read T.Khalil's musing sometimes) too. But there is something about the bangladeshi people that just doesn't make the wildbeest moo (at least I believe so). Infact the cool thing I noticed about the post was the poll featured on the right hand sidebar LOL. Richard Stallman might look extremely hippie, but one thing is for sure, it was the power hungry, lustful, bloodsucking X-windows empire that taught most of us, newborn bangladeshis how to interact with its pirated piece of crap ( ... )

Just as some added jest.. I somehow managed to install ubuntu 5.10 "breezy badger" and pull of a dual boot system (previously, all my efforts have resulted in a damaged MBR and loads of hours of frustration while trying to recover it). Now answer this...WHY ON EARTH DO I HAVE TO GO THROUGH SO MUCH HASSLE TO INSTALL/UPGRADE STUFF on Linux? Why do this OS have to be for the pure bred geeks? I mean, I had to search several online tutorials and then write terminal commands like "gedit /etc/root/source.list", "apt-get install opera", "apt-get update" and many many other piece of shit...and where are there so many variants of application packages? Sometimes its a .deb, sometimes .tar.gz and sometimes something else. Can't the linux entrepreneurs make it easier, more user friendly?

And not "Ctrl+ Alt + delete"?? This is ludicrous.

Damn

If that mvp is someone with a "Z" or an "O" or teaches in "AIUB" currently, then I've heard of his rants (probably in the archive of the php-experts mailing listm, brawling with hasin bhai whom I met at BD-bloggers' conv last year). So what if "Pageflakes" is a good web 2.0 startup?? I don't care :) MVP or NON- MVP...all are equal in my categorisation of human beings..because all are bangalee, hee hee.

Will try to join BD-lug, but can't promise to be a hardcore writer/reviewer. The 'kernel' may remain a mystery to me for all eternity (like the borg cube is a mystery to the trekkies). I have relatives who are prized members of bd-lug like "Ragib Hasan" and "Ahmed Bayani" (tough spelling, don't know if I was right), so joining the mailing list can be counted as a tradition I guess.
