a random encounter
I was just about to clock out from work yesterday when a familiar face wandered in and up to the counter, not a college buddy or anything, but none other than one of my best friends.... from my freshman year of high school, at Catholic school, in Madison, WI----- Eric Prendergast. No need to ponder the odds, they're astronomical- That he would wander into my Coffee Bean in Los Angeles, CA, 8 years after I last saw him, a thousand miles from Wisconsin- unbelievable. I recognized him immediately. He's now a Fulbright scholar, going to Macedonia next month to study linguistics. Crazy. He introduced me to his bf, I introduced him to my gf. It was beautiful.
