Oh man, you're kidding! Emo is the worst, most shamelessly derivative music on the planet. As it exists today, emo is like pop-punk but with heavier melodicism and lyrical content. Emo artists (New Found Glory and Fall Out Boy are some of the most famous, not to mention an entire league of soundalikes) rip each other off to the point where everyone sounds exactly the same; they use the same riffs, the same song structure, the same vocal jumps, etc. The way of posing (check my first picture) and dressing that some call "emo" refers to how those who listen to emo pose and dress (usually in plaintive, self-conscious poses and tight-fitting, sometimes even girly-looking clothing). The origins of emo date back as far as 1989 with Rites of Spring's debut album, though the term didn't actually get coined until Sunny Day Real Estate's album Diary in 1994. But even so, emo music has been around much, much longer than the general pop-culture term "emo" that's used to describe everything from a person's laconic, self-absorbed whines to someone's pyramid-studded belt.

I didnt mean to offend you with the joke was just referring to the stereotype emo pose of holding the camera yourself and taking photos of different angles of your head.

Then sorta comparing it to emos who think they look cool by doing that. I didnt mean to imply you were emo...

ok no more rambling ... I think if New Age Emos photoshopped like you it would all be red & black with words like pain, love, torment splashed across.

Too cool..
