I'm so glad that I got to share in your traditions and spend time with them before they passed. They were very much unique, and they'll certainly be missed by you, your family, me, and pretty much everyone they knew. You got a unique chance to know two people as amazing as them, and as my roommate puts it, they never really die if we keep them with us. I know that's so cliche, and a seemingly trite thing to say that will have no impact on how you're feeling, but I hope that one day you'll think back and realize that it's the absolute truth. Experiences like this make us wise beyond our years, and speaking from the experience of having lost both my close grandparents also, I definitely know that things will never be the same. But just because things change doesn't mean they won't change for the better.

You know without any doubt that i'm here for you, so i won't even bother mentioning that to you... but please don't hesitate to call me no matter what. Remember, just because the people who took place in a tradition are gone, doesn't mean that the tradition has to go too. If you want to get together next time, I'll buy a meat grinder and the wine and we'll have a celebration for them!

Also, I love you. But this you already knew. Indeed you must.
