Sushi
OK so we were suppose to go to Makinos today but the groom's cusin was ranting and raving about this place off South Rainbow called Oyshi Sushi. They have a $21 all-you-can-eat made-to-order buffet. I really wanted Makinos but said fuck it. I didn't want to drive all the way down there but I went ahead since everyone was going.
We get there (20 of us in the group) and their sushi policy was that the buffet included any of their specialty rolls and appetizers but you were not allowed to order any sashimi or nigiri! WTF!!!!!!! That soured me right there!
I went ahead and ordered a Yellowtail Trio roll, Crunchy Scallop roll and a Rattlesnake roll. I order a cucumber salad for an appetizer. Well it took them forever to get my salad to me. They were bringing out cooked food to other tables and I sat there for 15 minutes waiting for a small bowl of cucumber salad that should already be prepped and ready to serve. I had to remind the fucking waiter that I had ordered it and it still took him over five minutes to get it to me. And this was just the start.
Funny how I was one of the first ones to order but I was the very last person out of 20 to get my sushi rolls. I even had to remind the waiter that I was waiting for mine. Luckily my appetite was partially suppressed by sampling everyone else's sushi rolls. The rolls here were ok at best. I read reviews and people have given this place an overall great rating but it doesn't deserve it! AT ALL! All the specialty rolls that were limited to the buffet were drenched with a stupid chef's special sweet sauce, a.k.a. the same sauce they use on dragon and eel rolls. These rolls were too sweet and it was almost like eating candy. My brother couldn't even stomach it. It really blanketed the flavor of the other ingredients and because of this all the rolls tasted the same!
Needless to say I won't be going back there ever again! IT. SUCKED. BIGTIME!!!!
