Man, I have been going to hip-hop shows like crazy lately. Half of this is because they are free (well, the walls are splattered with Scion's hot greasy spam) and half because we have good hip-hop rolling through town. Last night though, i was way too behind on sleep to enjoy myself at this Little Brother show. Firstly, it was far too epic a lineup, like a mini-festival which seems ambitious for these guys who are still pretty underground. I was so bleary that the whole thing passed like a japanese cartoon in fast-forward. I have no idea if there was a plot, or if any of the art was good. I am looking forward to seeing some straightforward well crafted rock when the Wrens play at Emo's tomorrow night.
I'm taking tongiht off, I need sleep and my phone duties are starting at 8 tomorrow. I moved to a specialty team, so within 3-6 months I should be done with the phones. Right? We'll see. I get what they are doing, just like the legend of Disney imagineers having to start out on the ground as the cast members working the lineup at the Haunted Mansion and such. The hard schedule gets a little old though. And it is difficult to explain to people that you are phone support even though you have a degree or two in Physics. I should bring a tape of a recent phone call with me. That would help clarify things.
I freakin' love my car, and I feel like such a tard about it since it was so solidly marketed towards guys like me. My friend asked me if I put a UNIX sticker on it, when I said no he asked about a Mac sticker, and it hit pretty close to home. I won't be putting any stickers on it though, I like it clean and branded only by its maker.
Here is a goofy exquisite corpse session going on in flickr:
