Well, it's been just over a month. And things are looking up for me, I think. He's still gone, I still miss him, I still haven't heard from him. But, I'm beginning to make my peace with the situation. I even went on a real date. Granted that guy turned out to be a complete weirdo. **Shut up Randy! ** But, at least I'm not sitting home waiting for him to come back. And that's what matters right?
I've also been compulsively shopping. I bought a new car. An '06 Grand Prix GT, it's white. So, the infamous Lumina is finally on it's way out.
Anyone looking for a car?
As soon as I can get up the courage to part with the old beast, that is.
Then there was one really sloppy drunk night. Lindsay got a front row "view" of that night. Oops. :P
Then there was the pirate festival, which was super exciting. It was also for a good cause, since proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish. But, I'm telling you there's nothing hotter than a man dressed like a pirate. . .
That actually turned out to be a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Maybe it was the beer :)
And, I've since gone to one more Make-A-Wish function. I didn't get quite as dressed up for this one, but. . .
Look at the beautiful places they send us for Make-A-Wish
I feel so spoiled.
But, aside from all the Make-A-Wish events I'm really excited to start granting wishes. And I've already been given my first assignment, so we're working on that. It's all quite exciting.
Other than that I've spent this month hanging out with the Holiday Inn crew. I finally started volunteering at NEC again after like an 8 week hiatus. I've also been taking riding lessons and loving them. I decided to start taking lessons at a more intensive equestrian center, and start taking this more seriously. I'm also half leasing this horse KR, hopefully, so I'll be riding 3-4 times a week. All that is very exciting for me. I'm beginning to feel like I lost a part of me when I was hanging out with Kristyn and her crew, and I'm back to where I was before I met them. Which is good and bad, I suppose.
Anyway, last week Jessica came to town. I wasn't in the best mood while she was here, and I feel awful about that, but I think we still managed to have fun. The week started with a crazy night, better left forgotten. Then, the next day we headed to Orlando and Walt Disney World. And that was awesome.
Jessica (with the surprisingly powerful Minnie backpack) saying "I'm home!!" We took some time out of our Disney trip to work on our modeling careers in front of the Pop
Century hotel.
We didn't get there until about 11:00 after mapquest screwed up, again. So, we just checked into our awesome resort, Pop Century and took a midnight dip in the hippity dippity pool.
The next day we took a wrong turn on our way to Magic Kingdom and ended up at Animal Kingdom. Oops. ;)
There are monkeys in this picture "I swear to God there is," you decide which is which.
The amazing tree-lady. Or as we Narnian's call them driads (I think) Africa was my favorite part, the African tribal people.
Kenny Durkin creating a caricature of me as a lioness. We went on the Kilmanjaro Safari ride. Just like N Sync back in '97. :)
Then we rode dinosaur. Then we went to the last sit down restaurant of our trip, Rainforest cafe, where I met up with some old friends. . .
. . . and got my drink on. (I love being 21)
After Animal Kingdom we went to MGM and took advantage of the magic hours, where the park stayed open until 1 in the morning.
Jessica and I looking very gay in front of the roller coaster that I never got on. Jes did though, she said it was awesome.
That was the scariest thing I have EVER done. That look of fear in Jessica's eyes, is actually from the pain of me grabbing her arm.
We also went on the Great Movie Ride, which was kind of a disappointment. I guess I expected the robots to be a little more realistic looking. It is Disney after all. Then we went to the muppets 3-D show, which was very well done. We didn't get back to the hotel until about 2 or 3 that morning.
The next morning we went to Disney's best kingdom, Magic Kingdom, where we spent the entire day.
We started on Main Street, USA Where we met the mayor
Partners in front of the "Partners" statue
Notice the lady selling ponchos to the left. These would come in One of Jessica's favorite rides. At least one of us got some
handy later on splash mountain. love on this vacation.
There's always time for a Mickey pop in Walt Disney World. In fact, I'm not sure I saw Jessica eat anything else the entire time.
Jessica met her main man, Stitch. Note how nervous she is.
Leave it to me to insist on a horse break.
On our way to meet Mickey
This picture was taken by two very nice (possibly gay) guys, we kinda put on the spot. Jessica is home, but who are those kids at the mailbox?
Anticipation is building. . . . . . At long last she was reunited with her buddy.
Oohh cuddly Cinderella fountain
At the "Dream upon a star" (or something) parade, where I made my first sighting of my dream man. . .
. . . Aladdin. (Hamming it up with Aladdin and the Genie) Okay so that Aladdin may have been a little gay, but since when has that stopped me?
After riding the jungle cruise, Stitch's Great Escape, Peter Pan, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad (without me), and a few other things we decided to end our
evening with some shopping on Main Street and the Electric Lights Parade, which is taken from Disneyland in California. That took me back a little.
After the parade we enjoyed the "weekend's" grand finale at the fireworks. Where Jessica called her mom for the gazillionth time that trip. And we drove home. Not returning
to Fort Myers Beach until 4:00 in the morning.
There's Jessica looking all rested. KittyKitty and I weren't quite so lucky. Which is probably why less than an hour later I backed my brand new
and newly painted car into a Durango at CVS.
But, little did Jessica know her day was about to get much worse. Because she was about to spend the next 24 hours in the Atlanta airport. . .
So, that, in a rather large nutshell was my "vacation" with Jessica. I just wish I was in a better mood while she was here. Because she really is one of my best friends and now that she's gone I miss having her around. Which among other things really makes me want to come home this summer. But, Summer Celebration kind of sucks this year, so there's no need to come home for that. French Independence Day is always worth coming home for, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford it. But, I'm already ready for another vacation. So, if anyone has any suggestions let me know.
Although, since Nick's friends Monkey and Boo Boo came to town yesterday I've been having a blast. In fact, I'm still pulling sand from every corner of my body from that experience. lol.
