11) Date Night Ideas...

Jul 31, 2011 23:18

This is a hard one, because I dont think we have enough "Date Nights" to be honest....

We used to give the girls their tea early on a Friday and then we'd have a nice "Grown up" meal together and some quality time after they'd gone to bed. That doesn't really work nowadays when there is a teenager in the house who stays up till 10pm and is probably still awake at 11pm!  We still have the nice meal quite often but it isn't followed by the same feeling of...privacy!

If we do have a real going out type date, my Aunt "Baby" sits, ie B stays the night at her house and we might go for a meal or go to see a band somewhere.

If nights are not feasible, we've been known to have a weekday off together and go off to the coast or the peak district for the day and have a picnic or lunch out and spend a relaxed time together. last Monday we grabbed a couple of M&S salads and some drinks and drove to Goyt Valley where we parked up and ate our picnic, enjoyed the sunshine and then drove on to Hartington (Where we visited the cheese shop and had a pot of tea outiside one of the hotels. We went home via Longnor where we stopped to visit the parish church flower festival. It was only a day, but it was so slow and relaxed that it felt as good as a weekend away.
